"~I have a Moen kitchen sink faucet, no water issues... just the base of faucet got loose, saw this plumbing service call offer in angies list and wanted to make use of this opportunity as I do not have right tool to tighten nut under the sink, as well as a pro might be able to fix stuff if it's more than DIY, in any way it was max 30 min work with right tool.
~purchased deal (vendor: A Real Plumber, albany, ny), 39$ for service call (includes 39$ towards repairs) - this shpould actually cover for fix I am looking for (with a washer and o ring if needed)
~confirmed service time for 7/22 between 9 - 10 am, I cleared everything under sink and made work area ready so that we don't waste any time, as I needed to take my kids out.
~Chris from A Real Plumber showed up at 10:15 AM, explained what I needed
~first 15 mins or so he spent on other things try to convince me shut off valves needed to be replaced< I know they work properly shutting and releasing as needed as I do use faucet filters and time to time work with them to clean up filter pipes / parts), asked how much it would cost - he quoted 125$ for one, since he is here he can do both for same price, even at this time he did not mention how much would be for faucet fix.
~I did not want any additional work or enhancements, and he started looking into issue, 20 mins later he was back and forth several times to his truck, and informed that he is not finding a right tool to fix this and checking with me to see if I have one with original faucet package - unfortunately this call wouldn't have happened if I had that :-(
~10 mins later he found one from his truck, and was fixed in next 15 mins, he mentioned a small washer need to be changed, which is also done, everything was done by 11:15 with actual time to fix issue about 30 min max
~ during all this time or before neither details in offer or vendor mentioned this service call will have a flat charges etc., he took 15 to 20 mins put his tools back in truck and prepare invoice/bill
~came back and mentioned faucet re-installed and made sure its installed properly, total 175$ - 39$ (amount paid to angies list or towards repairs) = 136$ (for me its total 175$ that I am paying)
~when asked about price that is more for work done, he tried to explain that its charged as a flat rate for faucet repair (remember there is no new faucet involved and its only tightening nut under sink), he mentioned flat charge for 3 hrs.
~when asked about how angies list offer helping me here as its 39$ service call + 39$ towards repairs .. so I should be getting 78$ of worth discount on total bill, he said he is not charging for trip and reducing 39$, so 175$ purely for labor to tighten a nut, I think this is RIP OFF,  they have coupon on their website for free service call all the time, when asked about it he wanted me to call them directly and NOT to go through angies list. for better value, (reason we chose angies list is to avoid such experiences :-))
~I had a wonderful experience with similar offer a for a pool service call with same conditions, that I will share more details on another review but person came in partially opened my pool and fixed my filter system and ladder and spent more time than this call, did not charge me anything other than what I paid for angies list offer, my suggestion to angies list is to lock price for service call appointments and time based on vendor type and when vendor shows up make sure they evaluate and confirm time needed for the service call if it goes beyond offer time then discuss how much customer need to pay before starting service.
~unfortunately this is second bad experience with A Real Plumber, and I am not going to use their services anymore or recommend to anyone
~being a premium member called angies call center to explain issue, and looking forward if they can help me in any way regarding this matter.

"CHW was very responsive to my claim (swimming pool circulation pump failed). However, CHW was unable to find a local service provider. After 10 days, my pool was experiencing an algae bloom and I needed to do something quickly. I found a service provider who fixed the pump (bad capacitor) for $50...just a few dollars more than the $45 that would have been out of pocket for a CHW agent to fix the pump."

*******20 YEARS EXPERIENCE*******\nBeginning in 1987 when I built my first swimming pool as a laborer, I fell in love with the job, I was so proud how it made the customers so happy and the children glowing with anticipation. I worked on a few different crews with different companies through the years and I really wasn't happy with the way things where going. I was losing my pride, we where pushed to build as many pools as we could and the quality of the work wasn't as important to the big guy, as hurrying to the next job. I was not satisfied with the way things where done.\n\n After working on a few thousand pools I decided to change things in order to bring pride back to pool installing. I got together with a friend that felt the same as I and we went out on our own. We may have only built 1 pool a day, instead of 3, but we where proud. The pools are installed the way they should be, like it was our own. In the next two years we only built around 300 pools, but every one made us proud and not once have we had a complaint.\n\n 19 years from my first pool, April 2006 starts the best year ever; our first year as Poolinstallers.net a family owned and operated business. We do carry a $3,000,000 insurance policy but most of all we carry the pride that every pool we install will add to our outstanding record of quality workmanship, within an inch isn't good enough for us, its got to be perfect . \n\n If you're looking for a top quality, professional pool installation at an affordable price, Poolinstallers.net is the company for you!\n

"They sent someone out to come fix it. I go online when I have an issue, instead of calling. It is very easy. You go online and tell them what is broken. The respond with who will be coming out within 24 hours. They have different plans for different amounts of money. I have my house and pool covered. I pay a $75 copay a month. I have had them for several years, and have never had an issue."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Grading complexity, debris removal volume, equipment, labor, and permits determine expense levels.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.
