"Work was done punctually, safely, swiftly and with our backyard gazebo, shed, fence, etc in mind. All workers were courteous. They were the only company that we didn't have to take apart our fence and use the neighbors yard to enter. The owner Paul was wonderful to work with and always returned text messages. Cost was cheaper than all other companies and still excellent work and customer service. Highly recommend!"

"Nick was prompt, precise and reliable! He was very conscientious about not disturbing the plantings around the areas where he worked, leveled out the tree grindings and cleaned up any pieces of tree mulch from my porch and stair area. I would HIGHLY recommend him to complete your tree stump removal project!"

"I found Veterans Pride through Angi. I needed a dead tree that was starting to lean into my power lines cut down. They responded to my request quickly and were able to do the job immediately. They arrived when they said, and had the job done in a couple hours. They hauled everything away. I did not pay for stump removal. I am very happy with the service."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In Buffalo, tree service professionals should follow OSHA safety standards and use protective gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and harnesses. Only certified utility arborists should work near power lines, as required by the New York State Department of Labor. Homeowners should keep a safe distance from the work area and ensure children and pets remain indoors throughout the tree removal or trimming process.

Helpful?

In Buffalo, most tree removal or major trimming projects require a permit from the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, especially for trees over six inches in diameter or those designated as heritage trees. If work involves street trees or trees on public property, a street tree permit is also necessary. Always check with the Department of Permit and Inspection Services to confirm requirements before starting any tree service project.

Helpful?

In Buffalo, homeowners often overlook the need for permits from the Department of Permit and Inspection Services or attempt large removals without proper equipment. Pruning at the wrong time or topping trees can harm long-term health. Hiring unlicensed or uninsured contractors is another frequent error. Always verify credentials, request proof of insurance, and follow local guidelines to ensure safe, legal, and effective tree service.

Helpful?

For tree service in Buffalo, select equipment and climbing gear rated for cold weather, as winter conditions can be severe. Use salt-resistant treatments for street trees due to frequent road salting, and choose fertilizers formulated for Western New York soils. Protective wraps and burlap are recommended for young or sensitive trees to prevent winter damage, and cold-weather hydraulic fluids help keep machinery running smoothly.

Helpful?

In Buffalo, tree service projects may involve additional permit fees, utility clearance coordination, and stump removal, which are often required by the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works. Debris hauling and lawn restoration after heavy equipment use are common extra services. Discuss all aspects of the job with your contractor and confirm they are properly vetted to avoid surprises and ensure compliance with local regulations.
