His work was meticulous and he was friendly and very responsive. The current job was an entire interior paint job of my 3 bedroom split ranch. Again, he did an excellent job. He also re-grouted my bluestone patio and did several small jobs around the house. He defies all of your preconceived notions of what a contractor is. Very intelligent, a meticulous craftsman and a friendly communicator, sending photo updates regularly and asking appropriate questions when necessary. "One of concrete blocks in my back yard has sunk and tilted. Yard floor was uneven which was a tripping hazard. In addition the rain water accumulated and was not draining properly. Mr. M. removed the old concrete block, made sure the pitch was right and installed new drain. This was only one part of the project. He also replaced parapet tiles on my garage, fixed all the cracks on the garage walls and painted. All work was done in timely manner and very efficiently. I appreciated the flexibility and option to add small projects as we went along. I am very happy with the outcome. Will hire his company again."

It was a joint project with the next door neighbors, who also needed their bluestone sidewalk replaced with concrete in order to make a workable driveway. I asked if I could have the salvaged bluestone. JB took care of the city permits, and the workers were there at 8 AM, prying up bluestone and piling it neatly in my back yard. "I had a rather specific and somewhat specialized need for a backyard concrete patio. The project called for a roughly 14x16 ft slab, of 4" thick with wire mesh concrete - and most importantly the entire patio needed to be pitched toward a centered drywell, for proper drainage. For added trickiness, the backyard had no street access, other than through the house, so the concrete needed to be pumped in (which could get messy). I interviewed three contractors and found JGJ Home Improvement Corp. to be the best overall fit.
