"I’m thrilled with Lawn Pros of WNY and I’d happily recommend them to anyone who needs lawn maintenance services. I contacted Lawn Pros after the service I’d hired to cut my lawn left me high and dry for 3 weeks. Lawn Pros replied to my inquiry quickly, gave me a very fair price, and cut my lawn the SAME DAY!!! I couldn’t be happier with Lawn Pros of WNY, they went above and beyond for me, excellent service."

"He arrived late to the appointment without calling. Once he was here, he was courteous and the consultation went fine, but I have still not received the design plans. I was informed it would take 10-14 days and it is now outside of that window. I also noticed that the price for the deal dropped $20 shortly after I purchased it, which is a bit frustrating."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Many people say the best composite decking is Trex, TimberTech, or Fiberon. These brands have formulated composite deck boards to withstand the elements and hold up over time. Each offers a range of product lines varying in durability, price, and appearance. Compare their different composite decking offers for cost, looks, and features before deciding on a product.

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

Yes, pressure washing a wood deck can be a good idea as it effectively lifts ingrained dirt, mold, and mildew, improving the deck's appearance and longevity. However, it must be done carefully, as it's easy to damage the wood, especially softwoods. To pressure wash safely, use a lower pressure setting and a wide, 40-degree fan pattern nozzle (often white). Keep the nozzle at least a foot away from the wood surface and maintain constant motion, avoiding hovering in one spot to prevent gouging.

Materials for a second-story deck must be weather- and rot-resistant, though the specific choices will largely be determined by your budget and style preference. Pressure-treated wood is on the lower end of the price scale, but it can be customized and stained the way you like it. Composite, on the other hand, is pricier for installation and has fewer options for customization, but you’ll save money and time in the long run because it requires little maintenance.

For the best results, stay off of your deck for at least 48 hours after sealing it. Giving the sealant at least two full days to cure ensures it can fully penetrate the wood, giving you the most protection from sun and weather damage later on. Walking on the deck too soon can prevent it from properly curing and cause your deck to weather prematurely.
