The people I spoke with were friendly and the job got done pretty well. The one thing that I hadn't expected, but hadn't really asked about during the process, was that the pickets they used in the fence were rough cut, rather than sanded, which will make staining them a bit more work; I should've been clearer about my expectations. The pricing was reasonable based on preliminary research I'd done before hiring them."

A barbed wire fence will last an average of 15 to 20 years, but the life expectancy can range anywhere between five and 50 years. Thicker wires last longer, as do fences made with galvanized metal. You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing. 

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

Installing a picket fence includes measuring and marking the area where you plan to build the fence, laying out all of the materials, digging post holes, setting the posts using concrete, measuring the rails, attaching the rails, attaching the pickets, and then painting or staining the fence if you chose a wooden fence material. 

There isn't a winner when comparing expanding foam versus concrete for fence posts. Both have benefits and drawbacks, depending on your budget and priorities. Expanding foam may be a better choice if you want a more eco-friendly solution that cures faster. Concrete is more affordable and durable than expanding foam, yet it is harder to work with and takes longer to cure.
