If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. Reglazing a bathtub is worth it if your current tub is in good condition and needs to be refinished or reglazed to bring it back to its shiny, smooth glory. Reglazing a bathtub is less expensive than refinishing, and both are less than the cost of bathtub replacement.

We don’t recommend using a tub liner to cover up cracks in a bathtub. Instead, you should repair the cracks yourself if you have the experience or hire a pro. Cracks may seem like small surface imperfections, but they can lead to much larger issues, so repair them as soon as you can.
