When you need help with your heating, ventilation and air conditioning, you don’t want to hear that your technician is stuck in traffic. You won’t hear that excuse from us. We’re based in Brooklyn, at Sheepshead Bay road - in an office, not a phone drop or a postal address. It gives us quick access to many of our customers. But we also have workstations in Staten Island and Long Island. This way, our techs can quickly help you, whether you have an emergency or a routine call. They can rapidly fan out across Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, ready to install mini-splits and portable AC units, clean chimneys, service residential and commercial HVAC systems, solve your radiant heat problem or get your furnace running more effectively. Our techs are experienced in all sorts of HVAC installation and repair, from heat pump systems and oil furnaces to air conditioner compressors and ac units. How we began As veterans of the industry for more than 10 years, we formed the company in Brooklyn in June 2016 with just one van and one technician. Fortunately, satisfied customers have rewarded us with many referrals and now we have seven vans and 15 people on our team, including office staff. We’re very proud and very grateful for our success. The team leader is Greg. He oversees all three locations and keeps us organized, making sure we respond to calls and we don’t leave until the customer is satisfied. Our techs are experienced, licensed and insured. We can help you, whether you want a new heat pump, a boiler repair, clean air ducts or a commercial HVAC overhaul.

"Excellent service . Stayed and troubleshooted the system until it got back into operation."

We specialize in boiler replacement, repair, and tune ups. Call today for our Fall special to make sure you're not left in the cold this winter.

"Matt immediately contacted me once I asked for a quote. The bathroom tub drain pipe burst and water would drip in the apartment below when the bathroom tub faucet was turned on. Matt came out the very next day to look at it. He measured where he had to open up the floors [in this case] the ceiling in the apartment below and was spot on. He knew exactly where the pipe was and didn't need to make any unnecessary holes. He came back with his guys and fixed the pipe. He also gave me a new spout, drain cover, and silicone finish. Then, believe it or not, as soon as this job was done, the very next day our water heater's pipe burst and water went everyone, flooding the boiler room. I called Matt. He came by the same day to take a look. He came back the next day with a new water heater and replaced it. Not only were Matt and his team professional, but they lived up to their name "On Time". Matt was never late for the jobs. If any complaint I have, it would be that he came, not on time, but too early, which is not a bad thing. So can it really be called a complaint? He is very hands on with communication [phone and text] and upfront with what the problem is and how to handle it. I have Matt's cell number stored in my phone because I found our new plumber!"

"After getting several quotes, last year we hired GenReady to install a house generator. Ed, the owner of the company impressed us from the start. He was knowledgeable and patiently explained the process as well as answering our questions. We knew right away that GenReady was the company for us. Lindsay kept us up to date as we moved along in the process. Our generator was installed last July. Andrew and his team installed the generator with expertise and efficiency. They took care to leave our house and yard spotless. Lindsay and Andrew were always happy to answer my questions and address me concerns. We’ve needed the generator only once (thank goodness) when our power went out due to a necessary power line repair after a car crashed into a utility pole on our street. When the power went out, our generator turned on within seconds. Our house was up and running for the four hours the line repair took, and if it weren’t for the blink of lights, we never would have known our generator was running. Every other week, our generator self tests for a few minutes giving us peace mind that it will be here for us if and when we need it. Just like the generator, GenReady is a company that runs efficiently and seamlessly. Just today, Lindsay called to tell me someone would be coming tomorrow to change the oil which reminded me that I am long overdue in submitting this well deserved rave review. Thank you to the entire GenReady team (and to Great White Propane) for all you’ve done to help us know we can weather any power outage."

"RUN FAR AWAY FROM ALLIED AND TOM. Tom took my money and did not complete the renovations as per our contract. He lied about having a licensed electrician to do electrical work, it was just one of his workers who's not licensed. I paid for a dumpster and when it was delivered by tom it was already half full from another allied job and I was asked to pay the full amount of $950. Tom didn't listen to anything I said regarding the work I requested and he changed my design and did work that was cheaper for him. I was priced for one of my ceiling's to be ripped out and reinstalled with new sheetrock, Tom waited until I was away on business then he installed sheetrock on top of the bad sheetrock and told me he ripped out the old sheetrock and installed the new sheetrock, I found out when my EC cut holes to install lights and we found 2 layers of sheetrock preventing the lights from being able to be installed. Allied construction is a cheap, sneaky company who will steal your money and breach your contract. Do not hire these people Tom is a lair. Tom wore a gun in my house on his hip and told me "I use this to get paid by customer who don't want to pay". Tom left live 120v wires hanging out of the walls and ceiling, he removed a banister and didn't replace it for 3 weeks making my home very unsafe for me and my 9 year old son."

"Let Our Family Work for Yours” At Laurelton Electric we specialize in electrical repairs and generator services for residential, industrial and retail customers 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Our dispatch offices service Manhatten, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, Nassau ,Westchester and beyond” since 1935. We are 3rd Generation family owned and operated, Licensed, Bonded, and Insured, and offer FREE estimates. Our work is 100% guaranteed and maintenance contracts are also available.

"I hired Laurelton Electric (all communications were with contact person Michael B. Scheffler) in 2013 to install emergency standby generator. The site was inspected, all permits received, and all work was done over the course of several months (4-5?), 20 kW generator (model #0062440) with transfer switch was installed for about $12,000. After installation and all required inspections the generator was placed in service and I was offered annual maintenance contract for about $460, which included maintenance (oil, filters, test runs) on predetermined schedule. I never had a problem with the equipment and/or service for the last 5+ years. I believe I had annual contract renewed, as the other family member usually pays bills. The generator runs automatic tests weekly, it also worked as designed during infrequent power outages. On April 30, 2019 I noticed that the generator indicator lights showed that it is not working. It also did not run its usual self-test. Upon closer inspection I found the "low oil pressure" alarm and absence of the oil filler cap, also the generator cover lid was unlocked (I have the key, but I never had the need to open or to close it), allowing free access to innards to anyone. On May 2nd, 2019 I contacted Laurelton Electric (Mr. Scheffler) and explained the problem in detail. As it happened, it was realized that I no longer have a maintenance contract with the company. However, Mr. Scheffler expressed understanding and scheduled maintenance visit for me on May 6, 2019, from 9 to 12. After making necessary arrangements with my schedule I was waiting for the technician, who arrived at 12:15 pm. In fact there were two people, the importance of which I'll explain later. Once again, I described the problem and the technicians replaced oil filter, air filter, which they brought with them, and I was told that the generator has low oil pressure (duh!) and needs oil. They also found an oil filler cap, which was deep in the entrails of the generator... The workmen asked me if I would point them in the direction of the nearest auto parts supply store, as they had no oil with them. Did I not tell Mr. Scheffler that there was "low oil pressure" alarm when I called to schedule the service??? After leaving and returning in about 15 minutes, they poured two quarts of oil and attempted to restart the engine. It was still showing "low oil pressure" alarm... Another trip to the nearest gas station (about 5-7 minutes) for the younger one, and another two quarts go inside... At that time, being nosy, as I am, I helped them to figure out how to start the generator manually. (One had to turn it off and then press Manual start key). The senior technician (older one) mentioned in passing that he does not know what to do, he just knows how to change filters. Clouds of thick smoke and engine misfires ensued, raising the suspicion of oil overfill... I called Mr. Scheffler at this moment and expressed my doubts as to the mechanics qualifications. I was assured that they are fine. Now the masters proceeded to drain oil by asking me for some drain dish, which I provided, and by unscrewing oil filter and draining oil from oil filter attachment point. I am not a mechanic, far from it, but suspecting something is somewhat wrong, I went online, found the manual for the specific generator model, and printed relevant information for the technicians. There must have been some reading comprehension issues, as they were having difficulty finding the oil drain hose in its bracket, as described in the manual, which I had to point out to them. At that time I kind of took full participation in the process of getting my generator back in service. I was following recommendation in the manual and checking oil level with the stick, after turning the generator off, as opposed to the senior technician, who attempted to do the same while engine was running, creating a spewing oil fountain. After draining about quart and a half and running two more manual tests with subsequent oil level checks, the "job" was done. It was now 2:30 pm, total "work" time 2 hours 15 minutes, including the time for oil shopping trips. The technicians asked me to dispose of garbage, however agreeing to take drained oil with them. At 2:45 I was presented with the bill for services provided, for the total of $1,228.22. I called Mr. Scheffler who stated that the price is not negotiable. I offered for him to take me to court, as I refuse to pay. Mr. Scheffler used quite a few choice words to express his feelings toward me, then hang up, without bothering to wait for a reply. After some consideration, I decided that I will pay the cost of air and oil filters and oil (2 quarts), plus tax, the amount will be as described in Generac website for the full maintenance kit for my specific model, which is $65.88 (it also includes 2 spark plugs, that the technicians took with them, I was told that I don't need those). The rest of the charges are not payable, I chose not to renew maintenance contract with Laurelton Electric. It was good while it lasted, and who knows, maybe if there was some other technician, the outcome would be different. P.S. Please see the attached invoice to understand the relevance of my repeated mentioning of times and relevance of two technicians, one of which is younger."

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
