Small jobs welcome

"I was so sceptical when I first looked into getting tree work done. It seemed that nobody really had. A heart for the work but recently. I was given a number and was told to just call. You'll be happy ... So I did. I gave the number a call. Arbtrek says it all And Donald most defiantly. Has the heart for what he does. He was honest about the quote and he did an amazing job at explaining the work he was to do. And. After it was all said and done. It look so good and it was like he cleaned everything up to perfection My little yard looked amazing. I wish I had some photos to post but camera is broken .. Because the world needs a bit of Arbtrek in their lives and yards. . #1 best experience that I've had. Since gas was 2 bucks a gallon honesty and truth and prestin work. From Donald. And his business keep it up. One tree at a time. . Thanks for. Making my. Day."

"Have used Zachary from Great Basin 2-3 rimes. Always professional, knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, and does superb work. Executing every nuance of the project with the dexterity and skill of a true professional. Also I find GB to be very cost effective. This time was no exception as he and Clint perfected the service in only 4 hours. I will HIGHLY recommend this COmpany and Zachary for any tree service you may desire."

"We had some old juniper bushes which were a fire hazard. I know the young man underbid the project because a good part of the bushes were young stemmed and very difficult to remove. Great customer service. I would recommend them."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

There are four common ways to prune a tree correctly: crown thinning, crown reduction, crown raising, and crown cleaning. The method you choose depends on the purpose of pruning. However, making the correct cuts is a vital part of the process, regardless of your method. Pruning incorrectly can damage or even kill the tree. So, you may want to hire a professional tree-trimming company to tackle the task.

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.
