"They successfully stretch my cheap carpet in two rooms in less than an hour. If I buy carpet again, I would probably buy from these guys, and save the money of having to install twice. I have cheap, low quality carpet that i bought from a big box store that use a third party installer that did a crap job that didn't become obvious until after the 12 month warranty period."

"Kevin was a pleasure to deal with and explained all of the processes in detail. There was a lot of “old” dirt and soap imbedded in the wtw carpet and wear areas on the throw rugs. All were provided special care and the results were outstanding. We have already arranged a visit for the Fall. Great job Kevin!"

"We purchased a home and over time knew we'd want a lot of areas cleaned.  After pulling an ad then checking reviews on Angie's List I called Don. We had no time frame except that we wanted the cleaning done before we replaced carpet abutting to it.  Don was able to accommodate us the following week.  It probably helped that we had measured and had an approx. idea of the space when we called him.   It took about 2 1/2 hours and it looks great.  I was able to see the difference between dirty and clean as he worked. This was an open but meandering area - large entry, kitchen, dining, hall, laundry and powder room.  He also help move/replace 2 large pieces of furniture.
Not much to tell except that we're very happy with the results.

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.
