"24' wide by 26' long driveway installed. Lots of rebar installed. Job was completed in 2 days. Bid was lower than the other estimates I received. They were very professional and cleaned up after they were all done."

"We have a serious infestation of ground squirrels, and they have burrowed tunnels under our retaining wall. Finding a professional to repair it wasn?t easy. I opened a job on Angi and Four Winds was one of the companies that responded. But of all of them, Daniel was most responsive, reasonably priced, and fast. He got us on his calendar for three days later and was finished within three hours. He also guaranteed his work and was able to come back to do a free patch when those dang squirrels burrowed another hole. He is so easy to work with and he does what he says he?s going to do, which is rare. We happily recommend him and would hire him again."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

In Reno, unexpected costs during asphalt paving often stem from uncovering unstable or rocky soil that requires extra base work, addressing drainage upgrades to handle sudden downpours, or relocating buried utility lines. Additional fees may arise for expedited permits, HOA approvals, or weather-related rescheduling. Material delivery to certain neighborhoods and seasonal demand can also impact project logistics, so discuss potential contingencies with your paving contractor.

Helpful?

To ensure your asphalt paving project in Reno goes smoothly, schedule the work between May and October to avoid harsh weather. It's important to contact local utility locators before any excavation begins. Also, check with your HOA for architectural approval, as many subdivisions require it. Proper drainage planning is critical to comply with city stormwater requirements and manage Reno's desert climate.

Helpful?

In Reno, create a seasonal inspection routine by checking paved surfaces each spring for frost heave and drainage problems, then monitoring for fading or soft spots during summer heat. In fall, clear leaves and seal any new cracks to prepare for winter. Pay special attention to shaded areas where ice lingers, and document any recurring issues to discuss with your paving contractor for timely asphalt repair.

Helpful?

Asphalt paving in Reno requires proactive maintenance due to intense sun exposure and freeze-thaw cycles. Schedule annual inspections each spring to check for cracks or potholes, especially after snowmelt. Prioritize sealing cracks and applying sealcoating every few years to protect against UV damage. Keep driveways and paved surfaces free of pine needles, gravel, and debris to prevent drainage issues and extend the lifespan of your asphalt.

Helpful?

During an asphalt paving project in NV, professionals closely evaluate the subgrade for stability, especially given the region's expansive clay soils and frost depth. Drainage is another critical focus, ensuring proper slope for water runoff to comply with local stormwater rules. They also assess the existing base material's thickness and stability, map all utility and sprinkler system locations, and confirm property boundaries.
