"Excellent customer service! I was able to get an appointment quickly. Jeff explained the process thoroughly taking time to answer my questions, got to work and did a great job cleaning the ducts in my 22 year old home. Amazed at the difference in airflow now! *** I have recently added the Nashville area to my service coverage. Since I can do most of my services remotely with you over the phone, I am hoping to eventually open up to larger markets and help people from having to take their computer in to get it fixed, if it has internet access, I can usually fix it over the Internet. Just trying to do more to help my Angies List customers!!******** I am a sole proprietor that works out of my home. I am my only employee, but I have over 20 years experience fixing computers, and providing superior customer service. I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! If you have a computer problem, I promise you that you couldn't find a better technician that will care about you as a customer, and not about the bottom line. I am always available, but don't always answer my phone, but if you leave a message, I promise to back with you as soon as possible...and figure out how to get your issue resolved in a quick, efficient and economical manner. Thanks so much for reading my ad, and I look forward to working for you!

"My wife and I have lived in our home for over 13 years. We realized we had never had the dryer vents cleaned and after seeing a show about the potential fire dangers we decided it was time to get them done. Ryan showed up and immediately began getting to work. He even went up into the attic and discovered we had no exit vent installed. He installed all the venting to bring our return up to code. He removed what had to have been at least 20 years of dryer lint buildup. He even left the laundry room cleaner than it was when he arrived. Our dryer works like it is brand new again. We used to have to dry towels using two cycles in the dryer, now they dry in 40 minutes! Making the dryer more efficient should save on the electricity bill. Overall, we couldn't be happier or more pleased with the work done. Ryan was quick with his business, professional, and polite. We will use him once a year from here forward to keep our vents clean."

"I had a hot water line burst earlier this year and, in the time it took for my insurance company to approve my claim, toxic amounts of mold and mildew built up in my crawl space. Initially, I hired a different company (big mistake) to do the remediation. They basically just sprayed some chemicals and left. Within a couple months I was experiencing the same issues and breathing toxic air again. So I did some research and decided to call Voda. JR and Christian came out, conducted a thorough inspection, told me exactly what I was dealing with and what needed to be done. Afterwards they showed me pictures of all the work that was done in the crawl space and needless to say I was extremely pleased. And to put the icing on the cake, they threw in a free duct cleaning so I can get my air back on and breathe safely again. Highly recommend their services to anyone going through a similar situation!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yesh, heat pumps can easily cool homes when the weather reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, just as powerful air conditioners can. The key is sizing the heat pump correctly for the size of your home and your climate. A local heat  pump professional can help you determine the right size and type for your home.

Running an air conditioner with mold is not safe because it can spread harmful mold spores throughout your home. Exposure to these spores can trigger various health problems, including respiratory issues, allergies, coughing, wheezing, sneezing, itchy eyes, and a sore throat. It may also aggravate asthma in household members. Continued exposure can increase the risk of more serious illnesses like sinus infections, pneumonia, and bronchitis. If you suspect mold in your air conditioner, you should stop using the system until it has been properly cleaned to avoid health risks and further contamination.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).

If you’re shopping around for a rooftop AC unit, you may hear them referred to as “package units.” That’s because rooftop AC systems are all-in-one heating and cooling units that connect directly to your home’s ductwork. If your AC repair pro references a package unit, they are referring to the system on your roof.
