"He came to house I game him arch. plans of bath and closet he came back with no drawings and no plans - said he had to take pictures.(for what??)  As I recall he took pictures the first time too. I finally called to get my original plans back.  He lives in Santa Fe and works often in Albuquerque.  I drove to Albuquerque and met him in the parking lot of UPS, about 35 miles from my home.and he gave me several computer generated drawings with only open rack shelves where i have cabinets with doors and open rack shelves for entire closet- no room for hanging clothes.  switched toilet and bidet so that door would be blocked by toilet.   He was very nice and the three areas of drywall repair look good.  I am expecting to use the $$ I paid via Angie promotional will cover the drywall."

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

Regular inspections, proper drainage management, and ensuring soil stability help prevent future settlement issues.

While it can be difficult to identify a bad foundation at first glance, look for large horizontal cracks, discoloration, bulging basement walls, or signs of water damage. You may also see large gaps between the home and the foundation on the outside or signs of pooling water from a recent storm.

Yes. A foundation wall can usually be replaced, but you’ll want to call a foundation professional.

A leak under your foundation from a water supply line or sewage line is likely to lead to water pooling on certain areas of your property during rainfall, abnormally fast-growing or green grass in certain sections of your lawn, and differential settlement of your foundation, which can result in large foundation cracks, windows and doors failing to operate properly, a wavy or sloping roofline, or damages or irregularities in your interior walls, including cracks and bulging. If it’s a plumbing line embedded in your slab, you’ll also likely notice above-average water bills.

Underpinning is a specific type of foundation repair where a specialist installs deep piers under a foundation to provide additional support. This method is often used when the soil beneath the foundation can no longer evenly support the structure. Foundation repair is an umbrella term that includes many methods. Besides underpinning, other common repairs include foundation crack repair, waterproofing, cosmetic repairs, and concrete block wall stabilization. Often, underpinning is accompanied by other work to address the root cause of the foundation issue, such as regrading the yard to ensure water drains away from the house.
