"Honest family business that does outstanding work, quickly? How can you top that. He explained a lot about lightning and the various dangers. Given my tall, metal roofed home in a wooded setting, I needed lightning protection. I've never had a problem in 23 years, until the past 3 months. The frequency and intensity of electrical storms is increasing. I had two close calls (at the expense of over $1,000 of electronics (that I had plugged into expensive surge protectors!) With something as important as lightning protection, go with experience. Red, White, and Blue has that!"

"I can't say enough on how well of a job the electrician did on my house - I am so pleased I have been letting my friends/relatives know how good he is. The electrician went above and beyond, he wanted to ensure everything was top notch and it was. He uses top rated products with his work, not the cheaper stuff that perhaps other companies may utilize. The electrician was prompt and kept to his word on everything he communicated, from total costs to when he would be arriving, etc. If your looking for a great electrician, you have found one with this company - workmanship is outstanding!!!"

"The deal on Angie's list stated that wires would be "dressed." To me this means that the wires would be covered. There were wires sticking out all over and was extremely unsightly. I had to pay an additional fee to "dress the wires." When that was completed, it looked much much better. Unfortunately, the pictures below show how it looks now. Some wires are still exposed and the paint was chipped."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Silver City, choose UV-resistant conduit and copper wiring rated for high temperatures, as these withstand the intense sun and temperature swings. Opt for weatherproof, dust-resistant outlets and switches with proper NEMA ratings, and always use GFCI protection outdoors due to monsoon risks. Local suppliers typically stock materials tailored for Silver City’s high desert climate, ensuring long-term safety and electrical reliability.

Helpful?

Schedule electrical projects in Silver City if you notice frequent breaker trips, dimming lights, or rely on extension cords for daily use. Spring and fall are ideal times to avoid monsoon disruptions. If you’re planning solar upgrades, HVAC changes, or preparing to buy or sell your home, it’s smart to review your electrical system. Always verify local code requirements before starting any major work.

Helpful?

Electrical maintenance in Silver City should include annual inspections of outdoor fixtures for UV and weather damage, regular dust removal from panels, and monthly GFCI testing. Before monsoon season, check all weatherproofing and outdoor outlets; before winter, inspect connections for heating systems. Homes over 20 years old benefit from yearly professional checkups. The high desert climate and frequent dust storms make ongoing electrical maintenance especially important in this area.

Helpful?

In Silver City, look for cracked or sun-faded conduit, corrosion on outdoor fixtures from monsoon moisture, and dust buildup in electrical boxes—these are common local issues. Other warning signs include discolored outlets, flickering lights, burning odors, or frequent breaker trips. Homes with older wiring or panels are especially at risk. If you notice any of these, schedule an inspection with a qualified local electrician.

Helpful?

In Silver City, always shut off power at the breaker before addressing minor electrical issues. Use a non-contact voltage tester, since dry desert air can affect readings, and wear rubber-soled shoes on concrete floors. You can safely replace standard outlets or reset GFCIs, but if you encounter corroded wiring, outdoor electrical problems, or any main panel concerns, contact a local professional to ensure your home’s safety.
