Colorado Grouting Inc has been operating for over 42 years and is a family owned & operated business, with over 87 years of foundation and structural repair experience between the three owners. "After the inspection was performed, Vernon, call me right away. He informed me of the extent of the foundation damage , and what was the root cause of it. The house was recently flipped, and his photos showed the poor quality of workmanship by the company, heat ducting smashed closed, no pads for blocking if the floor beams, a portion of the crawl space was so narrow, it would only be able to be accessed from the top side.He also provided me with a verbal ball park estamate on what it would take to correct these problems."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Concrete should be at least 4 inches thick for steps. This thickness boosts stability and prevents cracking and deterioration. After you’ve built your forms out of wood, fill the void with a sand or gravel base for concrete. Use an all-purpose concrete mix to form your steps. After pouring your concrete steps, be sure to screed and float the concrete.

Yes, concrete steps need rebar to reinforce the structure and ensure it can hold weight over time. Place a lattice of rebar inside the form before pouring concrete to give the steps their maximum strength. Tie each intersection together with rebar ties to hold the structure all together. Without rebar, concrete steps can sink, crumble, and lose their longevity.

Like all concrete, pervious concrete is susceptible to cracking due to expansion and contraction from freezing and thawing or heavy weight. Pervious concrete, however, is less likely to crack due to moisture intrusion than traditional concrete since pervious concrete is designed to drain and hold water in the material’s voids.

A paved driveway adds $5,000 to $7,000 to the value of your home. That’s because it increases your curb appeal and the functionality of your outdoor space, which appeals to potential buyers.

Concrete is typically the best material for a driveway if you’re looking for longevity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance. But, it’s not ideal for areas with annual freeze-frost cycles, nor is it the most attractive option—although you can get it stamped or painted. If your location is consistently below freezing, asphalt may be a better choice.
