It's worth talking to the LOCAL experts! Whether you are remodeling or starting from scratch Floorscapes is your locally owned and operated, one-stop, full-service design source. We provide sales and installation of all types of floor tile, wall tile, carpet, hard wood floors, window treatments, and solid surface counter tops to all of Central and Northern New Mexico. We offer a wide selection of styles including, but not limited to, ceramic tile, porcelain tile, travertine tile, granite tile, domestic and exotic hard wood floors, recycled content carpet, natural fiber carpet, carpet tile, granite counter tops, quartz counter tops and brand name solid surface counter tops.

"I want to let you know that you all at Floorscapes that you are just terrific. From start to finish, you were with us every step of the way. Based on what we discussed, you listened to us and gave granite samples. That really simplified the design decision for us. You let us explore a variety of back splash tiles until we found this gorgeous, large format tile that turned out spectacular. Beyond the in-store experience, your installation crews were great. They were so skilled at the installation and left everything nice and tidy. The back splash crew even washed our floor. The next time we decide to upgrade any of our floors or bathrooms, you are the only one we would consider. Thanks!"

"Raul and his crew did a great job of installing new kitchen countertops and backsplash and redoing our large master bathroom shower. We had quarts installed and they clearly knew what they were doing. Maria coordinated the business side of the jobs and she was also great to deal with. She was also good in keeping us informed as to when the crew would be showing up. They brought in Mario, tile guy, and Oscar, plumber, and they also were very nice to work with. We would and will bring Raul back to perform work at the house."

We are a full service company specializing in hands on service. We do everything from plans to final inspections; from new construction to remodeling. As we build & remodel, we document our work as it progresses by videos & digital photography.

"I was very pleased with the end product and thoroughly enjoyed working with John. John converted a bathroom into a laundry/work room that I wanted to be both useful and functional, but also attractive. The project was slightly more complicated than it may sound, because I wanted the plumbing connections maintained but hidden in the event that a future owner wants an additional bathroom again. In the middle of the project, the Santa Fe monsoon season began and we discovered a fairly significant roof leak. John dropped everything, examined the leak, obtained the parts for what turned out to be an incorrectly installed skylight, and fixed it. He also identified and advised on some other items that needed attention in our newly purchased home. Even with the extra work, John came in slightly under budget."

Rocky Mountain Stone was started in 1963 as a supplier of natural building and landscaping stone for the Albuquerque area. Since then, we have expanded into every aspect of the natural stone industry including; * Full fabrication and installation services of all types of dimensional stone, including both residential and commercial applications * Waterjet cutting services. * Full service supplier of natural stone for the landscaping and masonry trades Rocky Mountain Stone continues to be a progressive leader in stone fabrication with the state of the art Abrasive Waterjet cutting, CNC profilers and cutting machines, which allow even more opportunities for the Architect/Designer/Builder in creating designs and products never before available in natural stone. Rocky Mountain Stone installs dimensional stone throughout the state of New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Our workforce, with over 150 years of combined stone and construction experience is committed to providing the highest quality materials, workmanship, and service for all of our clients.

"It did not go well. I got conflicting stories from various people. When installers came, one did not speak any English. Neither introduced themselves. The countertop, despite two visits and laser measuring, was done incorrectly, with gaps at all four corners of the sink. They tried filing it in with adhesive, which fell out the next day. They then sent another person who did fix with gaps - albeit there should never have been gaps, but the guy who was to reset the sink, left it dripping on my rug, and then did not put it in straight and I had to insist that he sealed it. They left a mess both times when they left, and never apologized, and I never received a follow up on my satisfaction. The quartz itself is good quality but the service was bad and I would never use them again."

Repair Granite Countertops questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can remove an undermount sink from granite countertops. However, it’s safest to hire a granite pro to take on this job. Your pro might have to make cuts and grind the granite to remove the sink. Plus, if you’re replacing your sink with a larger one, you’ll need your pro to enlarge the existing sink cutout in your granite.

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

In many cases, it’s worth it to restore stone. Stone restoration generally costs less than replacing the stone entirely, helping to save on the cost of your project while still giving your home’s stone a polished appearance. However, if your stone is very cracked or crumbling to the point of compromising the structural integrity of your home, you may want to consider replacing it. Stone flooring costs range from $6 to $20 per square foot on average.

Silestone® is heat-resistant, so it can handle moderately high temperatures for a short period of time. That said, exposure to high heat can cause serious damage. You should never take a hot pan off the stove and place it directly on your countertop. Temperatures above 300 degrees Fahrenheit can leave marks or discoloration on the surface. Instead, use a trivet.

One of the primary benefits of a soapstone countertop is that the material is heat-resistant. You can put a hot pan on soapstone, and it won’t scorch or crack. Despite being able to handle extreme heat, soapstone is much softer than granite, quartz and similar materials. This means that it scratches easily, so you should not prepare food directly on the surface.
