"Mountainside was easy to work with and I was pleased with how the staff listened to my questions. The work went quickly and cleanup was nice. My neighbors (some are in construction) complimented the results. I ordered concrete color tiles from Davis Concrete Colors. The web picture and color sheets don’t show them accurately. "Sandia Vista's owner, Gus, responded quickly to my call.  We set up a meeting to see what needed to be done.  He provided a quote by e-mail the next day.  We talked again, and I accepted his quote.  He scheduled the work around my schedule so I could be at the house if I was needed for any reason.  The block was finished in one afternoon - then I decided to add another section.  That work was done in one afternoon.  The stucco work was finished after the block work.  All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.  I can assure you that if I need any work done in the future, I will call Sandia Vista Construction.

"Cesar and his team poured concrete and stamped it in our backyard. Cesar laid turf and built retainer walls. All work was done promptly and professionally. They cleaned up and left the yard looking great. Will hire again in the future"

"They had to go out and purchase the gutter and supplies (I reimbursed them) which used up a fair amount of the time I was to have in the offer (4 hours) and when I discussed other things they might do in the 4 hours, they declined, stating those items were excluded from the offer or beyond what they could do (for ex, some door weatherstripping). I was very happy they did offer to come back and move a shed. It was an additional fee that I felt was very reasonable and well done.  It all evened out when added together.

"Saw it in my friends garage and decided i would get it done. Wonderful. Garage seems like it is part of the house. It was so good I immediately resurfaced the driveway. It is something that I notice every day. Really glad I did it. My wife now wants to use Prosper1 to resurface the back patio and swimming pool next spring. Much, much nicer than epoxy coating."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

The best—and most popular—time of year to resurface a concrete driveway is the late spring. Concrete damage often peaks in the winter as the ground freezes and thaws. Waiting until late spring allows the ground to soften fully, so you don't run the risk of more damage from a sudden cold snap.

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.

No, hairline cracks in concrete are generally not a problem as they do not impact the strength and longevity of the concrete. Generally, cracks less than 0.3 millimeter wide don’t impact the structure. Hairline cracks can grow over time and weaken the structure, such as in a home foundation. Some hairline cracks can also cause leaks in a foundation. It’s important to watch the cracks to see if they grow. Contact a concrete contractor if you notice cracks exceeding 0.3 millimeter wide.

For handy homeowners, concrete projects are DIYable, and DIYing is a good way to save on the cost of a concrete slab, walkway, or other concrete work. If you’re completing a larger project or one that’s subject to building codes, you should always hire a professional to ensure the job is done safely and correctly.

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.
