"Taz is our go-to contractor, because they are problem-solvers, detail-oriented, and just generally do a terrific job on both large and small projects. At our house (at different times) Taz has done structural work for us; fully renovated our kitchen; installed a pocket door on a tiny 1/2 bathroom; fixed the walls and floor in a formerly useless closet; and, tore out a huge mess of a mechanical room, turning it into useful, attractive storage space. They deliver on time (including amazingly short timeframes) and on budget (as much as any contractor can be, given the fluctuation in material costs over the past few years). They do a terrific job of minimizing mess and displacement for the homeowner and pets. Would never use anyone else but Anthony and his talented crew. He may sometimes cost more than other contractors, but you get what you pay for - you may find cheaper, but you will NOT find better. And when Anthony does the work, he stands behind it, while others don't."

"My experiences on HomeAdvisor have been, frankly, mostly unsatisfactory. But Amtek Builders was a real gem among a lot of dirty pebbles. We hired Mike Antonen of Amtek to build a garden shed and greenhouse for a small vineyard and extensive planted grounds around our home. We didn't want the kind of pre-fab shed you can buy in big-box stores' parking lots. We wanted a structure that closely mirrored our home's architecture and colors, but was practical and cost-efficient. Mike spent the time to understand our wishes. When all the professional plans were done and proper permits arranged, work began. Amtek's crews were always on time and did a good day's work, always leaving their workspace as clean as they possibly could. Every major phase of workâ foundation, framing, roof, stucco, etc.â was followed by a state inspection. Nobody ever thought about dodging the rules, and that was a great comfort. When it was done, Mike's crew restored the entire area to its original condition and he gave us a tutorial on all the little things we should know as new garden shed owners. Mike's high standards made us feel like this job was in the right hands. Mike always had time to answer my questions, no matter how dumb. He was accessible, honest, and friendly ... and very knowledgeable. And get this: He didn't ask for our last payment until AFTER the job was done to our satisfaction. When our 350sf shed/greenhouse was finished, my wife and I toasted and considered the project worth every penny. Would we hire Mike again? Without a moment's hesitation, and we probably will. It was a very involved remodel which included: Laying Saltillo and Tala Vera tile in the kitchen, dining room, hallways baths and stairs; (The Saltillo and Tala Vera tile laid together were different thicknesses, so that was VERY complicated) Installed Tala Vera kitchen backsplash; Installed a complex heated flooring system under the tile; Installed a circulating system for the hot water; Removed bathroom vanity and replaced with new cabinetry, adding A new pier cabinet on top of the vanity, and new cabinetry over The toilet; Removed master bathtub and replaced with new bathtub; Removed old shower and replaced with new shower and all new Tala Vera tile; Replaced all plumbing fixtures; Painted the entire house; Oversaw carpet installation. Everything was done on budget and on time. It is all just beautiful. Albert was great to work with and I'd use him again. I cannot recommend him highly enough."

"Extra Mile Builders Really Goes The Extra Mile! I contacted Extra Mile Builders for a small renovation project in my living room. I have an open floor plan in my house, and I wanted them to build a soffit to delineate space between the kitchen/dining area and the living room, put a faux beam under it, and make it look like it's always been there. I also wanted them to attach faux beams from the soffit to the wall across the space to create a modern take on Viga beams. They did a stunning job. The quality of their craftsmanship is clear. Everyone from start to finish was professional, courteous, and kind. I was sincerely impressed by this team and will be using them in future renovation projects."
