"The summary: Extremely knowledgeable and professional folks but can be pricey The details: I wanted to replace our hot water heater and called Reliable Tech. Angelo, the owner came out and explained that several other issues like a improper joining of the hot water heater exhaust and condensing boiler exhaust, rotting platform, missing backflow preventer valve had to be fixed. I knew the issue about the incorrect exhaust venting beforehand. Angelo seemed to know what he was talking about and inspired confidence. He offered the option of putting in a new hot water heater, rebuilding the platform and putting in a vent kit for the furnace or replacing the whole system since both were about 25 years old. There was definitely a sales pitch for replacing the whole system but it was politely done. Other plumbers who came in to give a quote never noticed or point out that the system was poorly configured and the exhaust ducting was corroding. The price quoted for the full option was too high and I asked for the cheaper option. However, Angelo cut the price twice to something that I thought was acceptable and more in line with what we thought it cost. I am still torn by whether I needed both replaced but with a 25 yr old system you have to take a gamble one way or the other - besides I would spend $1000 for a vent kit on a boiler that might fail in a few years. The work itself was done very well, very professional and extremely knowledgeable staff and a follow up visit by a quality control supervisor. The work came with a two year parts and labor guarantee in addition to the manufacturer warranty. The only reason I did not give them an A was the initial quote. It was high and if the price had not dropped I would not have taken it."

"Rick's weekend rate was half the price of some Santa Fe plumbers' weekday rates, and he did a great job. I particularly liked that how carefully he kept track of a multi-step disassembly procedure on our washer, so that reassembling it went just as smoothly. Turned out the bellows/rubber gasket was not damaged, so he was able to rehook the spring that had been jarred loose by an overload, and refit the bellows, and we can return the part we bought. Definitely will use him for other appliance and general handyman needs!"

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."
