"Mike Park installed 4 custom 92" bookcases with cabinet bases in my home office. As an expert cabinetmaker, his skill and efficiency delivered results that exceeded my expectations. He communicated clearly throughout, and his honesty showed when he adjusted the final price after the job took less time than estimated. I highly recommend Millwork Resource, Inc."

"Joseph Martinez and his crew made my home so pretty! They had extra work to do with all our old woodwork, and priming that they hadn’t anticipated. They got the job done in less time than projected and I couldn’t be happier. Communication by text, phone, email, and in person were all timely and very clear. They were friendly and respected all my wishes about when to do which room, and when I needed cleaning done at a time they might not have chosen. Totally recommend them. Now we’re ready to get ready for staging! (These are pictures in process, not the finished product)."

"Charles is a pleasure to work with, professional and committed. He did our kitchen project on time and in budget. He even found a glass cabinet insert I liked better than the one I had in mind, and put self closing hinges on the doors. Highly recommend N-Hance of Santa Fe!"

This method works best if you are using similar materials and door styles that match your existing cupboards. If you’re choosing significantly different materials, like moving from fiberboard to hardwood, then it’s usually best to replace the entire cabinet.

Properly maintained, resurfacing typically lasts 5-10 years. Factors like surface usage and exposure to chemicals affect longevity.

Yes, cabinet makers continue to fabricate custom kitchen and other household cabinets for new construction homes. Cabinet makers also replace and renovate existing kitchen cabinets. The cost tends to be higher than choosing manufactured cabinets from a major retailer, but you get the cabinets specially designed and made to fit the unique needs of your space.

To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.

Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.
