"The company appears to have finally fixed our repeated leaks by turning down the water pressure as Sonic Leak Detection suggested, and making other important adjustments to our leak detection hookup."

"I had another company out the night before and they failed to fix the drain and over-charged me for bad service. The next morning I called Strongbuilt and the customer service was excellent and Gilbert fixed the clogged sewer and carefully explained my options going forward. The fees were very reasonable."

"Water was backing up into the bathtub. Tried to snake it myself but couldn't get it cleared. In the meantime discovered that the toilet was leaking underneath. What a delight.
Found this guy on Angie's list with excellent ratings. Called and left a message. His voicemail said he was unavailable today, but he called me anyway after a couple of hours and got to my house just before 5 PM. Snaked the drain and cleared the blockage. I asked him about reinstalling the toilet I'd taken off so it wouldn't leak, but since I hadn't asked him about it earlier he didn't have the wax ring. He came in and reinstalled the bolts in the floor and explained to me how to finish the job after I get a wax ring.
Overall I am delighted with this service. Very reasonable charge... I live out in Waterflow and he didn't charge extra to come all the way out here. I don't know if it's standard to give tips to plumbers, but I tipped him.
If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable guy who will get it done for you, this is your man.

"Service techs were a little later in arriving than we were told, but did a quick and efficient job of clearing the toilet. They cleaned up after themselves, and were very conscious of not tracking dirt into the house, and cleaning the work site when finished.  We have used this provider before and have always been satisfied with their work."

"The gentleman (I wish I could remember his name) was, polite, professional, and went above and beyond my expectations. The work only took ten minutes to complete but since I was paying for an hours worth of work he offered to change out the parts in my toilet tank to fill up the hours time. This was a first for me, most contractor's have no qualms about charging one a $125 for ten minutes of work. As you can tell I am most impressed and will continue to use them for all of my plumbing needs. A+++"

"

About half of our kitchen and half of the utility room had become bowed by water leaking under the floor from a water heater.  We discovered the water heater leak and replaced it, but were not aware of the extent of the problem. No one wanted the job!  It wasn't big enough for them. Ramon Acosta of D&R Services determined the extent of the damage and gave us a fair estimate. His team obtained the floor covering we selected and did a beautiful job of putting it down covering both affected rooms after replacing the floor itself.  There was also damage to a door jam that required additional structural work, which they also handled. They cleaned everything up and left nothing for us to have to do ourselves.

"If there were six stars, this company would get it. The plumber came and replaced a part that another company told me could not be fixed. Daniel called before arriving, replaced the one part that was needed, cleaned up and helped with an unrelated problem. As a 70 year old female, I noticed his personal cleanliness and fine manners as well as his excellent service."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

Toilets typically connect to your main vent stack, a vertical pipe that runs through all finished levels of your home and exits through the roof. It’s located behind the walls, but if you have an unfinished basement or a utility closet, you may find a portion of it running the vertical length of the space. Some basement toilets use an air admittance valve instead, which is a small vent located in the wall directly behind the toilet that extends upward a few feet from the drain.

Yes, you can install a basement bathroom without breaking concrete by using an upflush toilet system, which includes a macerator pump. These systems sit on top of the concrete floor, so you don't have to drill into it to install plumbing. The macerator pump breaks up waste until it is soft enough to pass through a discharge pipe to the main sewage line. This method saves you time and money by bypassing the need to break concrete to connect drain pipes.

The most common reasons a toilet won’t stop running are a faulty flapper or fill valve, improper fill height, or incorrect chain length. Luckily, all these issues are relatively easy to fix with parts you can find at a local hardware store. You can also call a plumber or toilet repair professional to solve the problem.

Yes, an ambitious homeowner could decide to replace their own toilet. A person attempting to do a DIY toilet installation should keep in mind that the average toilet weighs between 100 and 120 pounds. That means that you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying your old toilet and replacement toilet during both phases of the project. Additionally, homeowners will need to have basic plumbing knowledge to avoid plumbing problems that could result in messy, expensive water damage in their bathrooms. Hiring a plumbing pro from the get-go can help you avoid damaging your plumbing or your new toilet.
