"Prompt visit and estimate, price similar to other bid, very professional attitude and friendly service. Good advice about color choices. Steve insisted we look at a painted sample on our own siding before actual application. Charming small crew was neat and tidy. Power-washing came first. Thorough preparation down to bare cedar siding and special primer in some places. Equipment stored in one-quarter of our two-car garage, ladders stored in rear yard. Any customer of any painter needs to be ready for the weather affecting schedules. Because a client ahead of us in line asked for a delay, and the next customer was out of town, we got our job done well ahead of schedule, which happened to be helpful to us. But that requires flexibility. Steve guarantees his work for three years. This was a very good experience."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible, but professional services ensure even removal, safety compliance, and proper cleanup.

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on the surface area and complexity.

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

Sandblasting is a common method for removing paint. It works great if the underlying material is tough. This is because you can then use more abrasive sandblast materials, making the paint removal process much faster and less expensive. If you plan on removing many layers of paint on smooth surfaces, you’ll need to be more careful about which materials you choose to use to sandblast.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.
