"We used Jersey Shore Handy Heroes for a complete interior home rejuvenation and the results are spectacular. Don’t let the “handyman” designation fool you. Michael did everything from repairing and painting our walls, ceilings and trim to repairing our custom bookcase woodworking. His work was meticulous! We were stuck on colors for paint and trim, but Michael is a true design expert, helping with selection of paint colors, carpet, furniture, light fixtures and accessories, all within our budget. He also handled our electrical, plumbing and mechanical needs. We highly recommend Michael at Jersey Shore Handy Heroes."

"We hired the Meticulous Handyman to completely remodel our two bathrooms and update our laundry room. The work was truly meticulous down to making sure the house was spic and span when the job was finished. The upfront pricing was clear and concise and we even saved some money based on their recommendations for materials. Because our home is over 150 years old, we expected some issues - and we were not surprised when we found some structural problems. Kristi explained options and was upfront with the additional cost and time to remediate. We always felt totally informed and the job was completed when they said it would. Their craftsmanship was excellent and we recommend them without reservations."

"Z, Came to my home in Wildwood Crest. He gave me a quote to remodel my laundry room. He was professional, efficient but most of all he gave us advice. He went above and beyond our expectations. The laundry room looks great. I had loose steps coming from my back deck to the yard. I ask Z if that was something he can do? He said, let me grab lunch and a couple tools to do the step and I’ll be back. He gave me a great price and the steps are perfect. Real good guy and very honest. Ray"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Coping is the material that lines the perimeter of a pool and seals the transition between the top of the pool wall and the water. Decking surrounds the poolscape and extends far beyond the water's edge to provide a safe walking and lounging area. In short, coping is the border between the decking and the pool itself.

A pool heater is worth the expense, given that it can extend your swimming season by several months, depending on where you live. For many, adding a pool heater allows the pool to remain in service from May through mid-October. Even temperatures in the 40s and 50s are tolerable when the water in the pool is heated.

The steps to fill a swimming pool will depend on your local building codes. However, it starts with draining the pool of all water using a submersible pump. Then your pro will lift the pool shell from the ground or break it into pieces for individual removal. The next step is filling the cavity with dirt and gravel and topping it with topsoil. Once a structural engineer deems the site safe, landscaping can start.

Vinyl pools are the least expensive for installation thanks to the relatively low cost of vinyl pool liners. However, vinyl liners do not last as long as fiberglass or concrete designs, which could balance out the cost of the pool overall depending on its size.

Certain pools serve as a middle ground between traditional swimming pools and hot tubs. The two main options are plunge pools and swim spas. A plunge pool (or cocktail pool) is smaller, but you can add spa-like elements such as heating and jets. A swim spa is more similar to a hot tub, but it produces a current that allows you to swim in place (similar to how a treadmill lets you run in place).
