It turned out that the "French drains" were a trench at the edges of the basement and a sump pump. The drains were not piped to the sump pump. Came out the next day to attempt to snake two clogged tubs on second floor of a side-by-side two family home, connected to one sewer line.. Clog was more severe than expected. Came back next day with partner to find pipe where they join but it was behind kitchen cabinet of both homes. Decided to bypass existing line and run new lines from each tub, join them and then drop a sngle pipe to the basement and reconnect to near the main drain.
