Let me tell you, I moved into my house in 2015 and I agonized every day by just looking at my front lawn. When I tell you it was hideous, I'm putting it mildly. It looked like something out an old decrepit haunted house movie. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to look for a pro on Angie's List. I had a budget and was looking at some big name companies but prices were in the clouds. I took a chance and went with a local and relatively small company, but I am so glad I went with my instincts because I hit the lotto with Juan Rivera, LLC. From the initial quote request everything went as smooth as silk. From the onset, Juan responded right away. He came over the next day and I explained to him what I envisioned for my front lawn transformation. Juan took his time, heard me out, answered all my questions, made awesome suggestions, & honest feedback without any fluff ...I mean we covered everything from materials, labor, plants, pricing, time frame, etc. I was like this dude is on point. I have a military background, so this what I'm used to. Juan did not disappoint. He and his crew began on the day they were scheduled to and they never looked back. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and punctual. Gradually, I saw the transformation take place. These guys put in serious work. They explained everything they were doing and allowed me to be very involved throughout the entire process. On one occasion I was explaining to Juan how I couldn't get to paint my 2nd floor shutters because of no ladder and without hesitation he asked if I had the paint and the next day he took care of it....on the house. When it was said and done, I have to admit, my front lawn kicked butt. Finally the kicker. When we sat down to close the deal, I had the contract in front of me and was getting ready to write the check out when he tells me to subtract $200 because he didn't use all the top soil he thought he needed. I was like, wow, where do you see this type of honesty this day in age. I could go on and on. Let me just say that I super highly recommend them. Prices are incredibly reasonable and they put a big fat smile on my face every time I look at my front lawn now. What are you waiting for? Hire them already."

"My pregnant wife and I were looking to add on to out 100 year old house for the baby. We got a home improvement loan through a bank and hired Baby Bear to do the work. They very quickly started the job, demolishing the kitchen and dining room first. Keep in mind, my wife and I are living in the house during this construction. Constructing the new foundation is where things started to fall apart. They claimed they couldn't dig for the longest time because it was rainy. We weren't in a terrible hurry to finish the job so we were okay with this for a while. They demolished the deck, at some point. Then when they finally did dig, they found a small hole in the foundation. This caused all work to stop until the foundation could be assessed. It turned out the existing foundation needed to be fixed before they could move forward. This was quoted by Baby Bear to cost around $60k. This quote is way our of line for what it should have cost. At this point, my wife and I were ready to fire them. This is after they received around $22k from our bank loan. At some point around when we were firing them, they came back and said they could do the foundation for $10k. I assumed this was some tactic to keep us on the hook, we decided to let them go anyway and go with another contractor. They refused to give us any of the money back for the foundation they never constructed. They left a mess in our yard from the demolition, which some part of that $22k should have covered for them to take care of. At the end of the day, we got swindled by this company, but we still got the house built, but it was infinitely more difficult without the money they walked off with. We had to cut a lot of corners, I had to do a lot of the work myself and I had to go with lower end materials for parts of the job. The bright side is that my baby has a bedroom and I get to shine a light on their shady business practices. Thanks Angie!"
