"Not well. Unreliable. Lots of excuses. Subcontractors he uses were horrible. One took down payment and didn't do any agreed upon work. Another did the work and months later everything broke and I couldn't get anyone to respond to emails, texts, or calls. I had to pay someone else to come in and trouble shoot and repair. The one project he got done took MONTHS longer than it should have for no good reason. Do yourself a favor and use someone else."

If you are throwing the railing up surrounding a deck or porch, deal with any persistent issues with said deck or porch. If you or a loved one needs a bit of extra help getting in and out of your house, this could also be a good time to install a disability ramp.

The cost to install a fence averages between $1,800 and $4,500, ranging from as low as $450 to as much as $43,000 for a five-acre yard. This means that the fence is made to look like traditional wrought iron but is actually made out of either steel or aluminum. Old wrought iron fences typically found at estate sales or on older properties are much heavier and much more prone to rust than the ornamental wrought iron that newer homes and fences use.

The distance between fence posts depends on the type of fence you’re installing. Wood and metal fence posts should be between 5 feet and 8 feet apart. Chain-link fence posts can be closer together at 4 feet apart, or the spacing can be up to 10 feet apart. Vinyl fence posts can be between 6 feet and 8 feet apart, and wire fence posts can be up to 12 feet apart.

Installing a fence when the ground is frozen presents challenges, but it's possible with the right approach. First, mark and measure the fence line accurately. Use a power auger or manual post-hole digger to create holes in the frozen ground, ideally when it's less rigid during warmer parts of the day. Consider using pre-made fence post anchors or driving metal posts into the ground. Ensure posts are secure with concrete for stability. Allow extra time for the concrete to cure. Additionally, be cautious of frost heave, which may affect post-alignment. Installing in milder winter conditions is often more manageable.
