Small jobs welcome

"Mayron Painting Services is the best painting service you can hire. Mayron Blanco, the owner, as well as the entire crew, are all super professional, very understanding and patient, and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of interior and exterior painting, power washing, deck staining and repairs, and more. In addition, they are very punctual; they show up on time, as promised, and are exceptionally responsible. The quality of their work is top-notch (superior). They take every detail and all your concerns into consideration and will not finish until you are completely satisfied and the work has been completed to your expectations. You cannot go wrong with Mayron Painting Services. We are extremely satisfied with them (we give them 10 stars) and will continue to use them for all our work. We highly recommend them to you. Do not go anywhere else. Mayron Painting Services is simply the best!"

"Lamont is a total professional. He was extremely responsive to my initial outreach, communicated clearly throughout the project and always listened to and addressed the questions/comments I had. With drywall it’s hard to see the bigger picture sometimes at the beginning of the project, but Lamont assured me that the drywall would end up looking perfect and it did. I would highly recommend hiring Lamont for your next drywall project. His prices are reasonable and his work is excellent."

"Exceptional company. From the estimate to the actual painting they were a joy to work with. I used them for a house I bought that had a lot of flaws in the walls -- and they were able to make them go away. The house now looks new on the inside. They also hung a complicated wallpaper mural for me and I'm amazed at how well it came out. I would STRONGLY recommend them to friends and family!"

"Darek is very professional and reliable. His main concern was always to make sure we were happy with the work, and he went out of his way to make that happen. The project was finished on-time, which is unheard-of in the construction business. My husband and I LOVE our new kitchen!! We would recommend DDP Construction wholeheartedly and will definitely call Darek again for any future projects."

"This team did great work! Pedro and his crew were on time and great with communication. I hired them to rebuild my basement after I put in waterproofing. International construction was so good that I asked them to stay and fix a bunch of other things in the house. Very fair on pricing, would recommend"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.

If your home’s foundation shifts slightly over time, any seams in the drywall represent the weakest point in the wall, leading to cracks. If your home has significant changes in temperature and humidity, this can cause the drywall to swell and contract slightly, causing a crack at the weak point of the seam. If your drywall installer did a poor job securing the panels to the wall studs, this could cause a weak layout and cracks in the seams.

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

A local drywall contractor can texture your drywall for you. Drywall contractors are a better choice than general handy people because the contractors have a lot of experience working with drywall mud. The process is somewhat of an art thanks to the complexity of working with the mud, so call in a drywall pro who knows what they’re doing.
