"It was great and they are great!   I can't say enough about their professionalism both with the person that gave me the quote and the guys who performed the work.   Very knowledgeable about the process and took great care to be sure nothing was damaged.   They came in, drilled holes in the concrete, and pumped a polymer-type product, PolyLevel,  in through special attachments that were removed after the process.  There were 4 holes in the concrete that they patched and you have to look for them to see them now.  I imagine by spring when we open the pool they will be practically unnoticeable.
We decided to use BQ Basement Systems because they were the only ones that used the PolyLevel.   I really did not want to have someone digging, chipping and pouring concrete that close to the pool wall.   This system was quick and safe.   It cured almost immediately and we were not inconvenience in the least.  I can't imaging the nightmare of the other way, the dirt, the concrete truck on the driveway, the time to dry.   Glad we picked the best company.
Thank you Angie's List and Thank you BQ Basement Systems.  You have restored my faith in getting good contractors.

"They responded quickly. Presented a clear plan to keep our basement dry. They did the work as promised in a timely fashion, and persevered through obstacles (cramped conditions and thick reinforced concrete to hammer through). I'm satisfied."

"JA Drywall did an awesome job on the walls and ceiling and saved our dining room! The crown molding and baseboards were the finishing touches we needed to make our living room stand out. His crew arrived early every day and were super friendly and professional and cleaned up the space well."

"In late fall, I noticed that a piece of a stone wall abutting my driveway had broken off and was drifting into the driveway. Concerned that the wall would fall into the driveway, I contacted Quinn Brothers Masonry. They came out within two days, assessed the situation and gave me an estimate. The work involved taking down both walls, knocking off old mortar on the stones, and removing ivy. After the walls were taken down, protective covering was placed on the exposed dirt, and drainage pipes and gravel were installed. They then rebuilt the walls, using the original stones. While rebuilding the walls, Patrick Quinn advised me that my stone house foundation had been compromised by paint and old mortar. I authorized additional work to restore the foundation. The paint on the stone foundation was removed and the old mortar was taken out. Then, the entire foundation had new mortar installed. I am extremely pleased with the results and will definitely hire them again."

"Matt and his team were fantastic. I could not believe the difference my front and back yards looked. When I saw how his team removed the ivy from my back and off the house I truly wanted to cry because I truly thought that no one could do the job. This is not my first experience with Matt and his team -- his team actually did my front steps and enlarged my driveway. I can tell you in dealing with Matt and his team, everyone was very professional. Rest assure I will be using Matt and his team from now on to keep my lawn looking professional as well as (hopefully in the near future) to redesign my backyard into a showcase. If anyone can do it, Matt and his team can.
Finally, I was very pleased how fast his team was in getting the ivy off the backyard and around the house. I never had a problem with Matt and his team not showing up --- when he says he is going to be there, he will definitely be there.
Thanks Matt !!!!!!!! I highly recommend that you call him for your landscaping needs and if you need new steps in, he is your man!!!

"We had known about this problem for some time and had also had a structural engineer evaluate our situation.  We may be putting our house up for sale soon and decided it was finally time to get the wall fixed.  Armed with my own research and the engineers evaluation, we searched for a contractor to perform the work we knew we needed to have done.  Upon contacting Foundation Experts, Larry got back to me very quickly and we set up an appointment for him to inspect the wall.  He was VERY thorough in explaining what needed to be done to stabilize the wall to prevent any further movement/damage.  He said we should have the wall "pinned".  He quoted us $4000 to do the whole job (10 pins along a roughly 25ft. long wall).  They also designed the system so that the re-bar would pass through the top course of block and attach to the house sill plate above the wall to help lock it in place.
The price was on par with most other estimates (slightly cheaper actually), but we decided to go with Foundation Experts mostly because they were very thorough with their evaluation, were honest (I was armed with a lot of info about our situation and felt very confident that what he proposed to do was exactly what needed to be done) and they did not pressure us at all.  I also really liked the fact that they routinely work with engineers and felt that they had a better grasp on executing the work over other contractors we contacted.  They also will work with the township if permits are needed.
We scheduled for the work to start the following week.  Their team took about 2 days to do the work.  They were very professional and did not make a mess at all.  They put plastic up to prevent concrete dust from getting everywhere in the basement and cleaned up thoroughly.  Larry was present during the bulk of the work and made sure that everything went smoothly.  They even worked with us on the payment method.  He made it very clear if we have any issues/concerns or questions to call them anytime.  He also stressed that if we sell the house and potential buyers have any questions/concerns to contact him and they will work with us as best they can.
The wall is now fixed and my wife and I feel better knowing that our wall won't come crashing down during then next heavy rain!  We also feel better knowing that we won't have to worry about foundation issues coming up if/when we sell our house.  All in all, it was a great experience!

"Hired them to remove front patio that was cracked and sunken. I suspected this was the cause of some water issues in my basement. Picked this company because of the reviews and their written/typed and emailed estimate(which was not the lowest)by far the most detailed in terms of what would be done.Upon remove of concrete noticed issues with foundation which was given additional estimate to fix.I wasn't pressured into completing/agreeing to anything additional and everyone took their time to explain what new problems were. Guys hand dug out the front of my house 6+ft to fill cracks in my foundation and apply a tar cover and fill and tamp down. They even applied sealant to my gas and water pipes coming into the house! Then they applied gravel with mesh and rybar into the wall to keep my concrete pad from sinking again. Work is still being completed, very extensive job!(plus little rain delay) Several neighbors have commented how great/nice the men there are and what quality work was being completed.Everything so far looks fantastic. I've been keeping pictures detailing the progress of the job which I'll see if I can post. On the last leg of completion, just need to have concrete poured tomorrow. And then let it set. So ready to have a nice patio for the summer!!!

Concrete Walls questions, answered by experts

With proper installation and sealing, both poured concrete and cinder block walls can be durable options for your yard or home. Poured concrete walls do offer more durability and strength, but cinder block walls are less expensive to build and DIY. A concrete wall costs an average of $6,500.

Professionals provide long-lasting, structurally sound, and aesthetically appealing concrete surfaces tailored to business needs.

Yes, you should hire a mason who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local mason guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Certified” badge. Angi Certified businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

Yes, you can pour concrete if it rained the day before, but you’ll need to drain the construction site to ensure there isn’t standing water where your slab will sit. You might need to manually remove any puddles and set up drainage on your site to dry it before pouring. Moist soil won’t be an issue, but standing water will throw off your concrete mix ratios. Additionally, ensure there isn’t more rain expected in the near future before you pour.

If you've decided you'd like to skip the cost of restoring a brick exterior wall after considering whether you should repair or replace brick on your house, you can consider installing fiber cement siding over brick for a cost of $2 to $6 per square foot. When done properly, cement siding over brick offers a durable, low-maintenance option that can actually reduce your home's energy costs. It's also attractive. However, improper installation or installation over heavily compromised brick can cause water damage.
