"Jack contacted us on the first day and agreed to meet with us after we filled out a form on Angie’s list to find a general contractor in our new hometown. It was immediately obvious that Jack and his son, Dom, knew what they were doing and so we were hopeful the estimate would fit into our budget. Within a week (which included speaking to some contractors that could not or would not do everything we were looking for) we signed a contract with Jack and they begin working within a short amount of time. Our original plan was just the tankless water heater, generator and bookshelves. During their time with us, we discovered a roof leak and Jack and his son spent hours determining exactly what was wrong. We had no doubt that we would use them to repair our roof as well. "We hired Elegant Home Improvement to renovate 2.5 bathrooms, our master bedroom, our kitchen, and our Living room. John & his crew met and exceeded our expectations. They spent approximately 40 full days worth of work on our house and at the end of every day the work area, our yard, and our house was always clean and immaculate, while still making good progress. All construction boxes, trash, etc. was always removed and cleaned up before they left every day. They took extra effort to make this a positive experience for us and to make sure our house was livable during the renovation process. "My wife and I DO NOT use anyone who is not on Angie's List so we understand the importance of having accurate, fair reviews. We found Cary on Angie's List with overall great feedback on jobs he had done so we called him in for an estimate. Despite being very busy, he made the time to come over on a Saturday morning. He had previously dropped by and assessed the damage from the outside but needed to see it from the inside to ensure he could judge it accurately. After 15 minutes, our fears were realized and he said he would need to remove the cedar impression siding and remove the roof and replace it with a different system because the pitch wasn't steep enough. 
Within 48 hours, he provided a quote for his crew to come out and get the work done in a single day which was completely reasonable. He completed the work (guaranteed) as promised and left the site immaculate. He took pictures of the issue, of job progress and of the completed job. He mentioned he went around and filled some other issues he noticed while he was waiting for his crew to wrap up, no charge at all. He then discounted the quoted, agreed price 5% for angie's list deal I wasn't even aware of. Have you ever heard of a contractor accept less than an agreed price? Me neither.
Angie's List is a great resource for people to share experiences. I think the contractors who are honest and reasonable should be applauded too. We have been on the receiving end of some really lousy service so this was a new experience having someone do what they promised to do. Cary and his crew are the best in Monmouth County. We already have him pricing out finishing a storage space and will use him to build our deck in the spring. I cannot recommend Cary enough and you can reach me through Cary if you'd like to see his work firsthand.

"This is a bit overdue as my work was finished several months ago. I can't say enough good things about David's work. My house is nearly 100 years old and when he agreed to remodel my bathroom I don't think he knew what he was in for. Once he took down the walls and floor - what we found was a nightmare. But with all the issues my old house had - David was able to overcome them and produce a clean, finished, beautiful bathroom. David is on-time, quiet, focused and a hard worker. If not for the actual hammering - you wouldn't know he was there. He cleaned up every day after himself and worked like a pro."

"We had an old home that had gotten too small for a growing family. We liked our neighborhood and wanted to remodel/add on. Matt (MTL Contracting) advised that it would be more cost efficient to replace the old house with a new modular home. He helped us from the beginning in planning out the home, letting us look at many Modular home plans from his supplier and from online sources that we found and letting us modify them to suit our needs. Matt delivered everything promised. We ended up with a very nice NEW house at far less cost than it would have been to move into a comparable one close to our neighborhood and without the headaches of updating old construction. At the outset, he said "I want to give you a TURNKEY house. Everything will be ready for you to move in" and that was what happened. Matt did a lot of the finishing work (front porch, garage, interiors etc..) himself in addition to subcontracting. We picked out hardwood flooring and he installed it, he installed the appliances we bought, tiled the bathrooms with our selection of tile etc.. In addition to building the house, he has stood by the construction and has made himself available when things needed attention (routine settling cracks, some siding that blew off in a windstorm etc.) We had a deck on the old house, and he managed to remove it during demolition and re-attach it to the new house. Later, we decided to remove the deck and put in a patio and MTL came in with a great price and put in a very nice Paver Patio. I would recommend MTL Contracting for your construction needs large and small. Great value and workmanship at competitive prices."
