"Joe. who installed the floor in the kitchen, came over the Sat before, to drop off supplies and check out the floor. On the installation day, after he ripped up the flooring in the kitchen/ dining area he said that we did need additional work done to even the floor. After discussing it with Sue ,he added another layer of plywood and made the floor even. This was all done the first day. Joe and his helper cleaned up and returned the next day to install. Joe also installed new molding in the kitchen and bedroom. A week later Tony installed the carpet in the bedroom. The floor and the carpet look beautiful. Joe, Tony and Joe's helper were very professional and cleaned up after they were finished. We had an extra expense due the uneven floor, but it was worth it for the results. Sue was great in helping us to decide what we needed and called us after each job to see how things went. i would definitely use her company again. Thanks Sue."

"CH Hardwood floors responded quickly to my message. They came to look at the job the same day. They gave me a good quote and were on site in less than a week. Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers. 

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.

To clean a subfloor after removing carpet, start by removing any leftover debris, such as stuck-on underlay, nails, or staples. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, you can use an adhesive remover, a scraper, or a sander to gently lift it off. Finally, clean the surface by mopping or wiping it down with a damp rag and allow it to dry completely. This preparation is essential for ensuring new flooring adheres properly and to prevent bumps or wrinkles from forming.
