"We had water damaged so we need to replaced the entire flooring of our condo and we want it the same flooring as what the builder installed. Bryan found and showed us right away the product which you could not find anywhere. Not at Home Depot, Lowes or Floor and Decor. It was a big relief when he showed us an exact match to our floor. With installation, he has a crew that is top notch. Very professional and easy to discuss and resolve issues. They left the condo clean. I would recommend the store to all friends and family. "Very pleased with the result. Stephen spent a lot of time talking with my wife and I about our options and gave us a fair price quote. The floor had been covered with carpet for the last 50 years, and when it was ripped up, he discovered that there were pet stains. When you install laminate flooring, you have to install spacers (also called expansion gaps) along the edges. This space along the edges gives the flooring the room it needs to naturally expand and contract. When you don't have an expansion gap, you can end up with damaged or warped planks. This can lead to uneven flooring, which is unsightly and can cause a trip hazard.

If you want your carpet to last as long as possible, then yes, you need to install carpet padding. Carpet padding creates a layer of protection between the back of your carpet and the floor beneath it, which decreases friction and reduces wear and tear. Aside from that, carpet padding also helps absorb noise and makes your carpet feel more comfortable underfoot.

Dry rot or severe water damage may warrant a replacement, but you don’t always need to replace damaged subflooring. If your subfloor has warped because it was installed incorrectly, you can sometimes shim the panels (in other words, add a thin, wedge-shaped piece of wood to level the surface). If your subfloor bows upward, you may be able to sand it down at the joist so it’s level, depending on the extent of the damage.

That said, for some homeowners, the pristine appearance of hardwood floors may be more appealing, and they may be less prone to scratches and dents than cork flooring.
