"Santos was very professional, personable, expedient and efficient. He explained why the carpet was buckling and explained what he would do to rectify it. He also ensured I checked the end results of his work. Santos cleaned up after his work by collecting the cuttings and vacuuming the carpet. I most definitely recommend him!"

"The carpet looks good. The installers did a good job. They also cut the bottom of some doors due to the carpet rubbing on the bottom of the door. This cost extra and was paid directly to the installers. Both Bogart Carpet and the installers were easy to work with. They kept commitments on scheduling."

If you want an excellent outcome then hire this company. It couldn?t have been better! We replaced over 400 square feet of worn carpet with engineered oak wood flooring in a large master bedroom.  Due to the positive reviews on Angie?s list, Prestige was the first (and only) company we called.  We were trying to find a floor that would come close to the other hardwood in our home, which had been discontinued by the manufacturer.  The estimator, Jim, was an extremely helpful and patient gentleman.  He helped us with our selections and even came back with another floor that he thought would be a better match for us.  He was right. There were some hesitation about pricing but after talking to other neighbors we decided it was fair.  We scheduled the job for the end of July.  It could not have gone more smoothly.  The wood was delivered on schedule, a few days before installation.  The installers showed up exactly when they said they would.  The work crew moved some very large bedroom furniture and removed the unsightly carpeting.  They proceeded to install all the flooring and shoe molding and moved all our furniture back.  They completed the job in about five hours, including the spotless clean up.  Amazing!  A totally professional job from inception to completion.  The owner, David, stopped by to check on the job and to make sure everything was going well. The floor looks beautiful and what could have been a stressful day, turned out to be a walk in the park.  Thank you Prestige. We love our new floor!

"I was very impressed with this company. We had said when we scheduled the appointment that we absolutely positively needed the carpet installed within two days. We were on a very tight time table: closing on Tuesday afternoon, needed carpet installed on Weds, and then receive furniture from storage on Thursday. There was no room for error.
When the owner came to meet me the evening, right after we closed on the apartment (not Mike but his partner), he brought a selection of carpets that he said he had in stock and were available for installation the next day. All I had to do was say the word and he would be there at a specific time. If I have any complaint, it is that the selection was rather limited, but then again, beggars can't be choosers. So, I picked the color and quality we wanted. He measured. I wrote a check and told him I would tell him what time to come the next day.
Though there was a little confusion over who said what about the time of delivery (they showed up essentially before I had called to say I was ready), the installation went off without a hitch and it took a LONG time, too. I don't know if it had to do with the odor remediation or the install itself, but for whatever reason, the installers were there into the evening. Nonetheless , they did an awesome job and the carpet looks great.
I would totally use them again, though I hope this carpet lasts for a very long time. So far, I see no signs that it won't.

"Ricardo was always very responsive throughout the entire process.  He provided a fair estimate and scheduled the work during the times we required as it needed to be completed around other work being done at the house.  The work was completed in a high-quality manner, and we are very happy with the results.  Our HVAC contractor had to subsequently move 2 vents in the floor which created 2 additional holes.  Even though the flooring job had already been finished, Ricardo came back out upon our request to finish the additional patches for us.  I would definitely recommend Ricardo and his crew."

"After I called for an estimate Mill Carpet sent one of their employees to take measurements of the space. They also brought samples.
I visited the store and settled for a hardwood floor that was in stock. The appointment was made to proceed with the installation in the coming week.
In the meantime the owner sent one of his guys again to verify some of the details (space underneath a sliding door).
On the day of the sheduled installation I got a call from the company that the job would have to be rescheduled because the installer had the flu - hey what can you do: it is flu season. However they sent a team to remove the existing carpet that same day and sent another team the next day to install the wood floor - which was a Saturday.
The two-men team was very competent, hard-working and skilled. They made a wise recommendation to install the hardwood floor in a different direction than the sub-floor so the unevenness of the sub-floor would be less conspicuous.
The price was very fair given the fact that I was a previous customer.
The job was done in due time, the space cleared and swept of all dust and to all satisfaction.
Very reliable, friendly and personable. Great to work with.

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

The cost of carpet repair is $204 on average. The typical range for this project is between $135 and $280 but can increase to $1,000 for severe pet damage repair. The type of repair, along with the carpet material, will impact your total price tag.

The necessary type of carpet repair is a significant factor in the total price for this project. You can repair simple repairs, like tears and snags, for between $100 and $250. For more complex damage, like water or severe pet damage, prices can start at $300 and jump to $1,000 or more.

Regular vacuuming is essential in homes with animals and children to remove pet hair, dirt, and debris from the carpet's surface. Additionally, prompt cleaning of spills and accidents can prevent stains from setting in. Consider using carpet protectors or area rugs in high-traffic areas to minimize wear and tear on your new carpeting.

Standard padding works like a sponge. It absorbs liquid, soaking up every drop of moisture that hits it. Moisture barrier padding does the opposite because it has a waterproof coating made of plastic film, rubber, or treated foam. It doesn’t absorb spills and keeps them on the surface instead, so you can clean them up before they damage your subfloor.

Yes, by patching or section replacement to blend seamlessly.
