"Mr. Lee responded to my request immediately, arrived promptly, assessed the problem within minutes, went to work on the drain and had it cleared out in a very short time. His price was reasonable, his manner was polite and pleasant, he explained what he was doing and why, and it was a great relief to be able to use my sink again! I highly recommend him."

"They responded immediately and fixed the problem. While there we had them address a few other issues and they fixed them immediately and did not take advantage of us. We also had them come out in March 2013 because we were told that we needed a new well expansion tank by another company. They were honest and showed us that we did not need another tank. The tank was working fine. I would recomend these guys. They are good.

English Sewage Disposal was started by the English family in the early 1970's as a septic pumping and portable toilet company. In 1998, Paul Behrens, owner of BECA Environmental Consultants, purchased and soon thereafter incorporated the business. Since then, English Sewage Disposal, Inc. has consistently grown as an organization and, by adding additional services along the way, has positioned itself as the industry leader in Southern New Jersey. With their common sense advertising and seven-days-a-week service, English Sewage Disposal is now the most recognized name in septic services.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Expect to take at least a day to drill your own well by hand. For a 500-foot well, this could take even longer, depending on the makeup of the soil and the terrain you are drilling through. Other factors include your physical strength and overall fitness level and the weather conditions you’re working in.

With regular testing, treatment, and maintenance, water from a community well should be safe to drink. Unfortunately, the EPA does not regulate private wells, and contamination can happen.

If you have doubts about the quality and safety of your drinking water, you have options for testing. You can pick up kits from your local home supply store or harvest samples and send them to a local testing facility. To get the most complete water quality testing and system diagnosis, seek a local well professional. They know what to test for and can recommend and implement a longer-lasting solution.

We’ve explained how deep-rooted plants can damage a septic tank from the outside, but plenty of things can ruin it from the inside, too. For example, flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, and wipes) can clog your septic tank. Cooking oil, grease, and household chemicals can also harm your system. And since a new septic system costs between $3,460 and $11,450, it’s worth following these guidelines.

Septic tanks naturally have bacteria that break down some of the solid waste in the septic tank. However, sludge buildup is just part of owning a septic system. While liquid wastewater can be filtered and treated through the system, a septic tank company has to pump the septic tank out at least every few years.

Beyond the type of well pump, there are a few other factors to consider when selecting a well pump. Keep in mind the depth of your well, your average water usage, and the PSI of your water-consuming appliances to determine the appropriate motor horsepower and size of your well pump.
