"Cristian Santti was the most difficult and headache contractor I had ever dealt with. I hired Cristian (a.k.a Cris - Innovations Home Improvement LLC) to Paint area about 1,500 sq. ft.. The work was to start on Monday, but night before his wife text me he can start on Wednesday. I had taken couple of estimates and Cris estimate was on the higher end, but he was willing to start sooner than the other contractors. Cris had told me there will be 3 guys working every day, but for first 2 days the work was going on a snail pace with only one person, rest of the days only 2 guys showed up. Most of the estimates I got they said work will be finished in 2 to 3 day, but Cris took 5 days. I can’t begin to explain all the Negative attitude and Tantrums of Cris for the duration (he was there for only couple of hours, during the job) of period his workers were doing the job. In his Estimate Cris said apply primer (on the walls) and two coats of paint, but his workers didn’t apply any primer on the walls and did only one coat of paint on the ceilings. I have Burnham Baseboards, which need to be painted properly to bring their elegance; they failed to do that also. Window frame was to be primer and painted, it looks like a child had painted them. When they spackled and Sanded initially they used Vacuum so the dust doesn’t accumulate on the floor and things around, but refuse to use later. It was a total mess for all the days they were here. My family has been cleaning Cris’s mess now for 5 days. He clogged the bathroom sink, because they were washing their stuff in there. Most of days they worked only till 4 PM and the last day they were rushing and worked till 5:30 PM and missed many places to paint. I’m planning to hire and/or finish myself many places they didn’t paint properly. I paid Cris after the job was somewhat done to get him out of my hair, but would not hire or recommend them again to anyone."

Drywall services FAQs

On average, drywall installation costs $2,000, depending on the size, complexity, accessibility, and location of the job. The typical cost range is from about $400 to $6,000, which includes materials and labor. Additional cost factors include the thickness of the drywall, the shape and height of the room, and the level of finish. The level of finish ranges from only hanging the drywall to taping and mudding the seams between panels to painting the walls.

Most drywall used for interior walls of homes is 1/2-inch thick. This size strikes a balance of being easy to handle and hang while being thick enough for the durability needed on interior wall applications.

The average cost to apply a skip-trowel drywall texture to walls is $1.25 to $2.00 per square foot. Ceilings cost slightly more because of the increased difficulty of working overhead. Additional cost factors include any drywall repairs and removal of existing textures or wallpaper.

The typical cost to repair drywall ranges from $300 to $900 for walls, and about $440 to $1,520 for ceilings. Cost factors include the size of the repairs and how extensive and specialized the repairs are. Average drywall repair cost ranges include:

  • Small holes (up to four inches across): $60–$200

  • Large holes: $50–$75 per square foot

  • Cracks: $60–$400

  • Dents: $60–$200

  • Ceiling repair: $320–$1,300

  • Water damage: $1,300–$5,550

  • Nail pop repairs: $60–$200

The cost to skim coat drywall is $1.15 to $1.35 per square foot. Most of the cost is labor, for the necessary skills to apply the skim coat with precision using high-quality tools. This is a job better left to the professionals for the best outcomes.
