"We called Javier simply to swap out our 2 bathroom vanities with new ones. We ended up laying down new tiles on the floors and new tiles in one shower. They also repainted both bathrooms. We also hired him to redo our two staircases, which turned out better than expected. His worker Noel really put in the effort and made us happy. We plan on calling Javier back to do some more work in November. 30 years of experience shows!"

"I had searched several other kitchen and bath options(8) to be exact . btw we started doing our homework in February, before making our final decisions. Tamaz and Gorge were very professional and had to be extremely patient with all the changes we had made during the process. Tamaz started with the design process which was done on a 20/20 computer program which gives you aerial and 3 dimensional specs of your room (floor plan). I am a designer which is a great thing but had its challenges as well. Because when it is for you, you have a tendency to over think things lol We initially loved the look of the Gray cabinets with a contrast island however, considering the amount of years we planned to be in our home we decided to do a more classic direction we decided on a chicory color. That being said that was the first change, Tamaz ( The owner and designer) helped redesign and compute the new changes with color first and then several changes to the specs on the island and decided on a different configuration. Initially, we started with a very firm budget (as everyone does) and didn't want to exceed it. We were still searching for our best rate to have everything done soup to nuts. We had to install 700 sq ft of flooring which took a big portion of the budget. My husband and I finally agreed that he was our best choice. We decided to change the design and options in the end with adding the built in appliances. Once again Tamaz without hesitation changed it for us and made sure we were happy. He took us threw the process step by step. We arrived at the stage of ordering the cabinetry. Executive brand was our choice because it is a semi custom cherry cabinetry, we upgraded to the raised panel option. I don't regret it, it looks amazing. Once we submitted our order with deposit and signature then we were given a sample board of what we chose. Once we approved the stain, the cabinets were due to be in around 4-6 week. *They were on time. Two weeks before they were scheduled to arrive, they scheduled Ernie the tile installer. That only took three total days very punctual and his work was very meticulous. The cabinets were installed we had to contract someone to install the appliances. The next step, I had the daunting task of selecting a tile and slab . That, I must say had to be the hardest part. This slowed down the process. Because they use in-house contractor everything moved smoothly and on time. In hind sight the best thing to do is to select the slab first and then pull from the colors from the stone(marble /granite/quartzite or quartz (which is man made) gives the appearance of marble. I went to several different popular places to choose a stone. When we contracted the kitchen, we selected River White granite which is a grade level three. Every lot is different from the next. Everything I gravitated towards was the Marble which had large veining. In my opinion, it is very porous and not conducive to having chi"

"Gabe and his crew turned our nightmare into a dream. We had a contractor who botched the job and Gabe came in and made sure everything was done correctly and beautifully. I highly recommend him, his electrician and plumber. Gabe even recommended a glass company who fabricated and installed custom glass for the shower. Another excellent company RCG Glass!"

"Great workmanship! Very knowledgeable about installing a wide plank pine floor in our weekend home. Had the right tools for the job. Was willing to answer questions about the process and was willing to make suggestions for a better look and install. Worked with a plan that we reviewed before work started and again about half way through. Mine was a small job and the attention to detail was great. I would recommend NB Woodworks for a small job to renovations to a new build!"

Small jobs welcome

"Dave did a great job installing my new laminate kitchen countertops. He went out of his way to do the little things so the job would come out just right. The countertops are beautiful and look like they cost a lot more then they actually did. I would highly recommend Dave and his company."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When tiling over concrete, you should install an anti-fracture membrane after the concrete has been prepared. The anti-fracture membrane acts as a moisture barrier and should be installed to protect the tiles from moisture which helps maintain their integrity. Often, Ditra, a brand name, is used interchangeably with moisture barrier.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.

Solvents dissolve tile adhesive, but the right solvent for the job depends on what type of adhesive you are trying to remove. For instance, dispersion adhesive requires stronger removers, like bile soap or even paint stripper, but some adhesives, like cement-based products, can come off with water and soap or mortar remover.

Like glass tiles, you will not need to seal most porcelain tiles, particularly if the porcelain is already glazed. It depends on quality. Porcelain is very water resistant, but it is not 100% waterproof. To avoid staining, some homeowners use a penetrating sealer. It is also a good idea to seal your grout. Unless you use epoxy grout, grout is very porous and can harbor bacteria, mold, and mildew.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.
