"I am very satisfied with the work done in our home. Needed some switch replacements as well as capping off some exposed wiring. Current was timely, professional and reasonably priced."

"I connected with Bob on the phone immediately and did not hire 3 other pros who bid on the job. Bob was very competitive. The quote had to be revised after the fact and after hanging several fixtures however, Bob was very professional handling it and was a gentleman. I trusted both Bob and Chris alone in my home and felt very comfortable doing so. Bob, Chris and their team Rob A and Rob C were perfectionists and extremely competent. The team is very pleasant, professional and easy to work with. Bob and Chris are very reliable, warm and more than competent. Bob has been doing electrical work for 35 years and is up for any challenge. I would hire them in a heartbeat to do electrical work in my house and would highly recommend them!!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professionals offer surge protection to safeguard equipment from power fluctuations.

It wouldn’t be abnormal to view all wiring as simply wiring, but wiring has different gauges and can handle different loads. When you’re wiring for 240V, you need wire that is rated at least 240V, but honestly it’s better to spend a little more and just buy 300V wiring. This ensures a margin of safety in case the wiring gets overloaded.

On average, the cost to wire a new home ranges from $2 to $5 per square foot. The cost to rewire a house is around the same, ranging from $2 to $4 per square foot. Often, though, new wiring comes with lower overall costs since it’s much easier to access a home’s foundation.

Yes, you can convert a gas water heater to an electric one, but it is a complex process. You will need to ensure there is adequate power for the new electric unit, as they require more power than gas models. The project also involves safely closing off the gas lines and ventilation, and some cities may require a permit for the conversion. The cost can range from $1,500 to $4,100, depending on the installation scope, plumbing and electrical work, and the water heater model. For an accurate quote, it's best to contact a local professional. Also, be aware that your monthly utility bills may increase after the conversion, as natural gas is typically cheaper than electricity.

On average, the cost to run electricity to an above ground pool is about $1,000. Certain factors can increase or cut these costs. For example, a larger pool or one farther from your house may require additional trenching for wiring, bringing costs as high as $4,000. On the other hand, a standard-sized pool closer to your home may only cost $350 to hook up to electricity.
