"Bill was very responsive to my inquiries and his price was reasonable compared to two other stone repairing companies I had contacted. My green marble floor was scratched up by the plumber I had hired to replace my toilet. See the before and after pictures. The scratches are gone and my marble floor is shiny and new again. Even the grout got cleaned up. Just a note, they don't accept credit card payments. I paid by check."

"I gouged my son's marble countertop and CJ saved me. In a very short time, he was able to resurface the countertop to perfection. I am so thankful I was able to find him. I spent my career in the service industry and in today's fix-it fast society, it is wonderful to see that there are still high quality craftsman who take pride in their job."

"My experience was great. Dennie was very responsive after I made the initial contact though Angie's List. I included pictures of my old damaged sink. Dennie gave me a quote over the phone and he agreed to come to my home which was an hour and a half way. We made the appointment, he arrived on time and I had a newly resurfaced sink in about 4 hours. I would hire Dennie again. He was responsive to my calls, on time and did wonderful work. He cleaned up everything perfectly. My sink looks like new!"

"Smart Tile was quick to respond to my request to have my granite counter tops cleaned & sealed. We setup a date and time to have the work done. I was called earlier in the day to confirm our appointment. Lorenzo was on time and started working immediately after he took a look at what was needed to be done. He was very courteous, friendly and paid close attention to detail. Lorenzo protected the floors with mats to ensure that the cleaner and sealer would not drip onto the kitchen floor. After he was done, my counter tops looked the same as the day they were installed. He also answered any questions that I had regarding the continued maintenance for my granite counter tops. Lorenzo was professional at all times and I could tell by the way that he worked he is an experienced craftsman. I would definitely use Smart Tile for any granite/tile work that I may need in the future."

"I highly recommend Prestige Marble and Tile! They have a fabulous selection of granite and marble slabs, the best and most extensive in the area. The salesperson Allen was an absolute delight to work with. He even made arrangements for me to go to the fabrication shop to mark the area of the granite slab that would look best for my kitchen countertop. The price was very fair and the entire process, from beginning to end, was perfect. The person that came to my place to do the template was excellent and the installation crew of three were professional, polite and took extra care not to damage anything. I could not be happier with my selection of granite and the service I received from everyone at Prestige was top notch!"

Small jobs welcome

"Prompt, personable, trustworthy and the craftsmanship is excellent. Mike came out to measure and sent me a line item estimate which detailed the scope of work to be done, gave me a list of all the materials and quantities to be ordered, answered all my questions throughout the process and picked up the tile when it arrived. Mike and crew are professional, extremely neat. The work was done in the time stated and within the estimate. Last minute incidental items I had forgotten such as corner shelves and door and window sill pieces were taken care of. He did my mom's bathroom and they were equally pleased! Highly recommended."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can repair a stone countertop yourself for minor issues like small chips or scratches, and DIY repair kits are available for this purpose. However, for larger problems such as major cracks or significant stains, DIY repairs may not be effective. In these cases, professional services are recommended to ensure a seamless finish, prevent further damage, and use the proper materials and techniques for a full restoration.

The frequency for sealing marble countertops depends on several factors, including the quality and color of the stone, the type of sealant used, and the amount of traffic the surface receives. Marble has a porous surface that requires sealing to maintain its shine and resist scratches. As a general rule, you should seal countertops at least once a year. However, for heavily used surfaces, like those in a busy kitchen or family bathroom, you may need to reseal them every three to six months. Conversely, countertops in a rarely used guest bathroom might only need resealing every few years.

You can use some types of car wax to polish marble floors, as long as the polish is designed for use on marble floors. Read the label and test the polish on a small area of the floor first to see how it interacts with the marble. Car wax can help fill in or buff away small scratches, while polishing the marble for extra shine.

Since marble is a porous material, it is more prone to water spots than other countertop options. Fortunately, pure water doesn’t damage your marble, but if the water is acidic, it can cause stains or water spots. Resealing throughout the year can help increase marble’s water resistance, too.

Yes, marble countertops are fairly soft and can scratch easily, especially compared to rival materials. However, most marble scratches are easy to repair, thanks to marble polish and repair kits. Deep scratches will require a professional.
