Small jobs welcome

"Adam and his team did an amazing job on completing a backyard fence for my family. He was hardworking and detailed with the work. Kept me updated through every step of the way from the permit process, ordering materials and check-ins as the build was happening. Our fence is great! He also completed a custom railing and gate to attach to our existing deck. Will definitely be using we do it all again for future projects."

"I was plagued with recurring ice dams in a few areas of my roof. After investigation, it was discovered that the insulation in a few visible areas was sub-par. Roland came in and quickly spotted the problem areas. He assured me that the could fix these problems immediately. He used a combination of rearranging existing batts, blown-in fiberglass and spray foam to seal the attic space, over the course of two visits. He's extremely personable and always called me back or answered the phone right away."

"The owner/operator came by shortly after my request and measured the house. Had a quote to me a couple days later and the new roof was installed within a week. I know that's not the case for most, but I was amazed by that. His crew showed up promptly at 7am on a Saturday and we efficient, polite and extremely hard working. They laid down huge tarps everywhere to catch the debris and were meticulous at keeping nails, old shingles and rotted wood off my lawn and in the dumpster JA Jubb had delivered the day before. The owner, Rick, was extremely thoughtful and open with me when there were unexpected repairs needed and a lot more plywood than he estimated. But you can't know that until you remove the 30 year old shingles. He warned me about that up front, too. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the work that Rick and his crew did and would absolutely recommend JA Jubb for roofing to my friends."

"Called and asked if they could come by 2 hours earlier than scheduled, which of course I said yes. They put tarps down on the ground to catch debris, and started working. Everything was done in a few hours, they cleaned up, and left. Walking around the house couldn’t tell that any work had just been done. New pipe collars and chimney flashing look fantastic. Perfect match to existing shingles where replacement was necessary."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.

The easiest way to cut holes in drywall for electrical boxes is to use a spiral saw with a drywall router bit. Hang the drywall without cutting out a hole for the box, but make sure you measure and mark where the box is located on the wall. Once you screw in the drywall sheet, drill a small hole into the box void, insert the spiral saw bit, and move it around the edge of the box using the inside wall as a guide. You can also use an oscillating multi-tool with an electrical box cutout for fast, professional results.

You’ll get better results if you soundproof the whole wall. A hole through which light can pass can also let sound waves in. Acoustical or silicone sealant applied to holes and cracks can block enough sound to make a difference. However, the more layers absorb vibrations and slow or stop sound waves, the less noise you’ll have.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Some painters will repair minor drywall damage. For repair work of any kind, it’s a good idea to hire the professional required for the job. Many painters will have the materials on hand and can add them to the total cost. While you may save some money, there is a chance the work will be subpar compared to a professional who specializes in drywall.
