"We had an excellent experience with Jacuzzi. They transformed our traditional bathroom into one that is now handicapped accessible, in just 2 days. John Cummings (sales) guided us through the process. The technicians were fantastic."

"He was very professional at all times. Was on time. Knew his trade well. Did quality work. Asked question when needed , tested everything to make sure everything was working properly and explained how everything worked before leaving....He may not be the cheapest, but is worth giving him a serious consideration"

"When my husband and I decided to finish the basement, we checked Angie's list and found Ayotte Home Improvement had a very high rating.  We were not disappointed!  Bob Ayotte was very professional, great to work with and always on time.  He really listened to what we wanted and he also had many creative ideas and options.  Bob does wonderful work, from installing new windows, to laying ceramic tile, to installing an oak staircase, to installing doors and completing the finish carpentry.  The plumber and electrician he brought in were also excellent.  We are so happy with the final result and we would definitely use Bob again for future projects.

"Richard was knowledgeable, helpful and let us know what he found and explained it clearly. He arrived promptly and set to work immediately. I had no direct evidence of the well until Richard’s arrival (tutorial). My clear understanding of what the steps moving forward could be were delivered with the water test. Five star service."

"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"He was very congenial and I really enjoyed having him work at my house.  He did explain that he was not a carpenter by trade and a small portion of the work had to be touched up.  That is definitely more my problem than his.  I have no complaint about his plumbing work for sure.  However, his suggestions for fixing the hot water issue were a lot of money.  I have to explain, they were definitely consistent with what many other plumbers on line recommend to fix the problem.  Just by chance, however, I mentioned the issue to my gas company and they recommended a plumber who came out and fixed the problem in under 15 minutes for under $200.  So, the older plumber who had "been around" was able to "try a fix" that the more professional plumbers perhaps could not entertain.  So, generally, I like him a lot and would definitely use him again for regular plumbing issues."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

When learning how to test for asbestos in a popcorn ceiling, you have an option for a DIY job or to hire a professional tester. You can purchase a kit at a hardware store and use personal protective equipment while doing the test. If you don’t want to risk any potential exposure to asbestos, hire a professional asbestos testing company instead.

Yes, even a single, one-time exposure to asbestos can be harmful and increase the risk of future illness, including certain diseases and cancers. The level of risk depends on several factors, such as the concentration and intensity of the exposure. A small, brief exposure is less likely to cause significant damage than an exposure to a high concentration of asbestos fibers.

The likelihood of developing severe health issues increases with repeated or prolonged exposure. Individual reactions to asbestos vary; some people may have multiple exposures without harm, while others are more susceptible. Asbestos-related illnesses may not manifest for 10 to 40 years after inhalation.

Due to these risks, it is crucial to take precautions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may not offer complete protection, as fibers can get through small gaps. The EPA recommends hiring a professional for testing and removal if you suspect the presence of asbestos in your home. If you are concerned about a potential exposure, consult your doctor.

The cost for asbestos testing typically ranges from $400 to $800. The final price depends on several factors, including the number of samples needed, the size and age of the property, and the professional's expertise required for comprehensive testing. Larger or older properties may have higher costs.

If you hire a dedicated asbestos inspector near you in addition to your local home inspector, it will cost between $200 and $800. If, however, your general home inspector happens to be certified as an asbestos inspector, they can charge you a smaller fee and tack on the cost to the home inspection. In general, home inspectors do not do physical testing, but will provide a visual assessment so you know what you are working with.

Regulations require certified professionals for removals and disposal in compliance with local and federal guidelines, ensuring safety and legality.
