All three quotes were comparable. When I told him I wanted to keep the wood, he said, â Oh, good. We wonâ t have to charge you for taking it away.â (By the way, I got 5 cords of wood from those trees and thatâ s multiple trips.) Then he said, â If you want us to broadcast the chips from the chipper into the woods we wonâ t have to charge you for hauling those away either.â That did it for me. Sign me up! In a few weeks his sons and their crew came over and took down the trees being very careful not to damage the property and not to let the logs roll down the hill. (Did I mention I live on a hill?) When they were done I was left with beautiful logs with no branches and they cleared away all the sawdust. Everyone was very friendly and clearly very knowledgeable when it came to taking down trees. I ended up hiring them again to take down another tree and I would hire them again in a heartbeat."
