Here’s what sets us apart: Water Removal and Storm Damage Restoration: When water wreaks havoc due to storms or other incidents, we’re here to help. Comprehensive Services: Beyond mold and water remediation, we handle storm damage repairs, basement flood cleanup and fire restoration. Choose Tri State Flood Inc for reliable, efficient, and compassionate restoration services. We’re committed to restoring peace of mind and protecting your property.

"Lesson learned. Always get an estimate. BEFORE the work is done. At least a digital copy. Arrangements for the project were made, with some one named Lynn, for the company to send someone to complete the work. We were quoted over the phone 4500-5000 which included a mold test. A sub contractor with an entirely different company (National Mold Company) was sent. When the contractor arrived, he stated that the job would be much more simpler than first thought. This led us to believe that the job would cost less, no. All said and done, they charged $5500. All said and done, it's almost like no work was done. The stains and the smell are still there. Only one actual board was taken upon the attic room. The ceiling in the bedroom was primed and painted but are still visible and have a funky smell. At this point I'm going to. Do what we should have done; Do the job ourselves. Just now with $5500 less dollars in our pockets. A detailed receipt was not given even though it was requested."

We use a patented dry fog technology that allows us to wipe out the toxic mold, like black mold, from virtually any building. Our revolutionary demolition-free mold remediation method means we can break down microbes on a molecular level, and get rid of the problem without removing walls or ceilings. And because our mold treatment fog is dry, nothing in your home or office is at risk for water damage. Best of all it's all-natural using EPA-registered products and is the only mold remediation process with a one-year guarantee

Mold Spotters performs unbiased mold inspection and testing services. This means that we are not involved in mold remediation, so we have nothing to gain by telling you that you have a mold problem. You can feel confident that our recommendations will be accurate and honest. Some mold removal companies also offer to test for mold. These companies are bidding for your mold removal job and could be tempted to tell you that you have a mold problem, even if you don’t. Our mold inspection and testing services are both inexpensive and reliable. Our fee is a small price to pay, especially if we determine that you don’t need to hire a mold remediation company in the first place.

"We used Mold Spotters to help find a potential mold issue based on a mildew smell in our home. The whole process was done very professionally, from making the initial appointment through following up after remediation. Dave is great. Very helpful and informative. I highly recommend."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Most grass mold isn’t harmful to humans. Slime molds in particular aren’t toxic and may even possess some benefits. Other molds, like powdery mildew and snow mold, generally aren’t a concern, but can still cause allergic reactions and respiratory distress in those with high allergy risk and compromised immune systems.

If you see mold spores on walls, flooring, or ceilings, it’s best to call in a mold inspection pro to investigate. Similarly, if you smell signs of mold—musty, earthy, rotting wood, or stale scents—it’s time to call a mold inspection professional.

Other less-obvious times when you should have your home inspected for mold include:

  • After flooding

  • After home water damage

  • Having ceiling or wall damage

  • Buying or selling a home

  • After a persistent unexplained cough or allergy symptoms

  • Noticing discolored surfaces

Toxic mold doesn't have a specific color; instead, toxicity depends on the type of mold and the mycotoxins it produces. Stachybotrys chartarum (also known as black mold) is notorious for its potential toxicity. However, not all molds appearing black are Stachybotrys chartarum. Mold species that appear in various colors, such as green, gray, brown, or black, can also produce mycotoxins. Therefore, it's essential to focus on identifying the type of mold through professional testing rather than relying solely on color to determine its toxicity.

If you find black residue in your toilet tank, chances are it’s caused by manganese deposits from hard water and not mold growth. You can prevent these deposits from damaging your toilet by installing a water softener in your home, which also might improve the quality of your drinking water. You can also remove the deposits inside your toilet tank once every six months or so to prevent them from causing problems with toilet functionality.

Water and electricity are a dangerous duo, so you should always proceed with caution as you inspect your washing machine and attempt to fix or replace any parts. We recommend working with a trained professional when you have a big leak on your machine to avoid fire risks from short-circuiting and electrocution from live wires in your appliance.
