"I've had work done by their largest competitor as well. Groundworks was less expensive so I gave them a try. I had them install anchors in two retaining walls. I had an issue with one of the anchors and they made several visits to remedy it and followed-up repeatedly to schedule and coordinate timing. Top rate outfit, IMHO."

"Great job! They did a very professional, thorough upfront planning prior to installation. The installation team was very courteous. We were quite pleased with the system. They also offer other services, so it is nice to be able to use one company. We are having them do aerating and over-seeding next."

"Chris and his helper showed up the same morning we requested service to install a new water heater. They were friendly and honest. They kept me informed of everything they were doing and of any extra charges there would be prior to doing the additional work. Chris fixed multiple issues that were left behind by other companies. They also squeezed us into their schedule a few days later to install a new water softener. I would highly recommend this business and we will be using them in the future for our plumbing needs."

"Fernando did a great job, he was neat and tidy, nothing to lean up after he left. I had an old toilet in the laundry room so had a new one installed upstairs and he took that and installed in my laundry room. He was professional, polite and productive. He's a hard worker and very pleasant."

"Overall, was very pleased with results. Recently had to replace defective tub spout and cartridge. Encountered an issue with spout replacement. Had a verbal agreement that customer supplied spout, shower head and single handle assembly would be covered under life time warranty. Since it was not written down on contract, Rebath indicated customer supplied parts were not covered even though sales indicated it would be covered verbally. However, Rebath did order part (it was under Moen lifetime warranty) and installed part. Rebath did offer to assist with future claims, if needed, with customer supplied parts needing replacement."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several things you can do to maintain your sump pump and prevent sump pump problems. For instance, keeping a lid on your sump pit goes a long way in protecting your pump system from silt, sand, dirt, and other debris. When water drains from the outside, such as along your foundation, or with melting snow, water runoff often brings sediment with it.

Also be wary of corrosion, particularly if your sump pump system is made of metal. Keep an eye out for rust and have it inspected regularly by a plumber or sump pump technician.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

Start by calling a plumber if you want to install a sump pump battery backup. Talk to them about your situation and needs. Sometimes, electricians or waterproofing contractors will install a battery backup, and in that case, the plumber you call should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you’re wondering if your home even needs a sump pump, consider whether you’ve struggled with flooding issues in the past. If your house is in a flood-prone area, your yard has poor drainage, or you’ve dealt with any other water problems, then it’s likely well worth it to replace your old sump pump with a new one.
