Their installation was poorly executed, and we ended up having to hire another company to fix their mistake ? costing us even more money on top of what we already paid Groundworks. Removing old tiles can be more complicated, but it can also be more manageable, depending on your circumstances. Typically, old tile is hard to remove because the adhesive had loads of time to bond with your wall, becoming a formidable foe between you and your new tile installation project. On the other hand, old tile in high-traffic areas can become loose, making it much easier to remove.

Removing a concrete slab is challenging and physically demanding. The job becomes even more complex and taxing if the concrete is thicker than 4 inches. You can use a sledgehammer and pry bar to remove the concrete off a patio or sidewalk, creating cracks in the concrete and removing the pieces. If the concrete is a larger area, such as a driveway, hiring a pro with the training and skills to use a jackhammer is often best.

To remove solvent-based sealer, you can pressure wash the surface and wait for the concrete to dry. You may need a special remover product if you have a water-based concrete sealer. Another option is to etch and neutralize the concrete. 

Yes, you can install a trench drain if you already have concrete in your yard or garden. While it can complicate some aspects of the job and slightly run up the cost, it is doable. Residential trench drains can be easily retrofitted to outdoor areas with concrete without having to remove excessive amounts of your patio, pool area, or decorative walkways.
