"Dinsmore Flooring is a reputable company. Mr Dinsmore was extremely knowledgeable about different type floors and very helpful in selecting the floor that would look best. They kept us informed on the job timeframe and cleaned up when completed. We highly recommend them, in fact have used them for all our floors."

"Installed garage shelving and repaired garage floor and finished the floor with a Polyaspartic SparTek finish. The Sales Guru and installers were very professional and walked us thru the process as they quirked."

"I am ecstatic with how our garage floors turned out from the work that ConcreteAid was able to do in just 2 days, to create an amazing space for the garage. The "domino" color is exactly what I was looking for to excel the modern look across the home that should remain in style for a long period of time. The price was very competitive and knowing that Chris was willing to go the extra mile to ensure thorough prep was the reason why we decided to proceed."

"Carlos and Marco did an excellent job installing 12” X 24” ceramic tile on my front porch. They removed the old tile and meticulously cleaned and prepared the concrete subsurface. They made sure that my wife and I were informed of each step of the project and showed up early and at the promised time. They cleaned up after each day and made sure to communicate with us each day. They did such a good job on the porch, I gave them another project to install back splash tile in a spare bathroom. I recommend Carfy Tile for any tile work you may have."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

When considering cork flooring pros and cons, you may have toyed with the idea of getting other types of flooring, including hardwood. But how does it compare in price? Your new cork flooring can cost less than hardwood, depending on the wood type you choose. Cork costs about $5 to $19 per square foot, while hardwood costs $6 to $25 per square foot.

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.

There are many benefits to hiring a professional floor cleaner. First, these flooring pros know the right chemicals for your flooring type, which is essential for its longevity. Likewise, they have the proper deep-cleaning equipment, which is often more complex than a mop or broom. Not only that, but deep cleaning your floors can be a time-consuming process, and by hiring a professional, you can spend that time on other home improvement projects.

Luxury vinyl flooring is the best for pet owners, as it holds up well against scratches and accidents. Non-slip stone or porcelain tile are great options as well. Each of these also provide a less slippery surface for pups that like to run around.

As for the flooring options to avoid, these are hardwood, laminate, and carpeting. Claws can scratch hardwood and tear up carpeting. On top of that, removing dog urine from hardwood floors can be difficult; likewise with carpeting. Laminate holds up much better, but it’s super slippery (especially for dogs).

Dry rot or severe water damage may warrant a replacement, but you don’t always need to replace damaged subflooring. If your subfloor has warped because it was installed incorrectly, you can sometimes shim the panels (in other words, add a thin, wedge-shaped piece of wood to level the surface). If your subfloor bows upward, you may be able to sand it down at the joist so it’s level, depending on the extent of the damage.
