"Brandon was hired to remove a load-bearing wall in our kitchen to open up the area between the kitchen and living room. This involved building a temporary "false wall," removing the existing wall then, and laminating two 2 x 12's set on end as a header - secured above supports at each gap-end. When that was finished he very professionally did the required drywall work including mudding, sanding, texturing, etc. From start to finish. He even went under the house and installed a "twist jack" under each gap support end to make certain the floor would not be depressed in any way. Very complete, competent, and professional!! Definitely recommend!"

You can paint over wallpaper, but it’s not usually recommended, especially if the wallpaper underneath is textured or dirty. If you do decide to paint your wallpaper, make sure it’s in good condition and clean it very well. Make sure all corners and edges of wallpaper are glued down before you paint, as well.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. Most experts would not recommend hanging wallpaper over existing wallpaper more than twice. Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. Unless you like bubbling paint and peeling wallpaper as an interior design choice, it’s better to remove at least one existing layer before adding any more to a wall.

Whether you skim coat the entire wall or just a portion depends on the extent of the damage. If you only have small sections of gouges, a targeted skim coat will do the trick. However, if the surface feels uneven across larger areas, a full skim coat produces a smoother, more uniform result and helps prevent a patchy-looking paint finish.
