"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

"Tom and his team were fantastic from start to finish. They took pride in the work that was completed and made sure all work was done properly and to our liking. The whole process was smooth, consistent, and hassle free. We have two new beautiful, updated bathrooms and plan to hire Tom for our mater bath remodel very soon."

"He came on time, worked hard, and I was pleased with his work. though a friend has offered to redo part of the wooden panel on the lower part of the screened door, as the top edge was left roughly cut.  This will make me happier with the details of that repair.  I will call the English Handyman again if I have need of his services."

"He told us the boards would probably lay down after a few months and they did! We were saved a lot of money by his knowledge and honesty. Years ago Accent put our wood floors in and refinished some floors that were already there. All the work has held up very well even in high traffic areas.

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number of blocks and customization requirements.
