"Fantastic. We used this company over 20 years ago in our first house, so we were thrilled that they would come to ENC to do our new house. Looks fantastic, perfect protection from intense sunlight but still maintains the look and visibility, plus the 3M product is the best! The service technician Jamie was very knowledgeable and professional, worked diligently during his time here. Susan Harris - who we worked with all along- was outstanding.. especially as I kept adding on areas ... and variable light control needs! Excellent from start to finish. Great organization and great product! Highly Recommend!"

"I had solar panels installed by SunPower's subcontractor Hooked on Solar in 2020. In 2023 some of the panels were damaged by an electrical outage and surge. It took about 4 months for Hooked on Solar to identify the damaged panels, schedule an appointment to replacement, but finally they fixed the panels."

"If you're thinking about installing Solar I would highly suggest SolaTrue of Raleigh. I'm finally up and running on Solar. I was constantly getting solicitors coming to my door trying to sell me solar. I was always polite but I was diffently not the type to get solar. Until I met Todd with SolaTrue. I had already heard that Duke was going up on everyone electric in the coming months so i wanted to explore my options. Todd and I had done business together in the past several times and I knew he was someone I could trust. When he started talking to me about his company and the benefits of getting solar I scheduled an appointment. My husband and myself was very pleased learning about it and Todd informed us on things we had no clue about. I can honestly say that the whole team was amazing. Stacy was our main point of contact after Todd and she kept us informed every step of the way. The installers were on time and professional while doing the job. If you are even thinking about Solar I would not just go with any company I would give SolaTrue a call. Trust me I'm in real estate and I know not every company that claims to do solar is legit."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Solar well pumps range from needing 200 watts of power to as much as 12,000 watts for heavy-duty pumps. Since the most common and cost-friendly solar panels are 100-watt panels, you’ll need between two and 12 panels. The average is between two and eight panels for standard pumps. Based on the average cost of solar panels ($1 to $1.50 per watt), you’d pay between $200 and $1,800 for your well pump solar panels—not including installation.

If you’re deciding between a solar battery versus a generator for the best backup power solution, you can take a few factors into consideration. Solar batteries are quiet while generators can be quite loud. Generators have a lower up-front cost, but they require fuel and ongoing maintenance while solar batteries are more expensive but don’t have many ongoing costs.

In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.

Professionals use the same methods to install solar shingles that they do for asphalt shingles, so you’ll often see a similar installation timeline of one to two days. The amount of time required will depend on the size and slope of your roof and the number of shingles installed. Weather conditions can delay installation, as working on a roof is unsafe during high winds or heavy rain.

No, you cannot turn on a new solar system before inspection. The inspector checks that the system is correctly connected to the grid and that safety components and features are in place. This process prevents problems on the electrical grid and offers protection against fire in your home.

Your local utility company may also require inspection documentation before you can connect to the grid. An inspection can ensure solar power efficiency and determine how you might increase it.
