"Derek was hired to place a retaining wall around our newly installed above ground pool. He created steps and a landing area for the pool ladder, did lots of grading to various areas of our backyard, moved the excess dirt from the cut out from the pool install, placed decorative stone around the base of the pool, fixed two areas of a French drain that I chopped up while trying to dig a trench, and cleaned out a basket drain that was continually getting clogged by sand to aid with drainage. I can't praise Derek and his work enough. He was extremely responsive from day one that I was searching for help. Quick estimate, quick to get the project started. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted in regards to the retaining wall. He had a vision for the project and he quickly brought that vision to life. I am so pleased with his work. You can absolutely tell he takes pride in his work and wants to get the job done right. He offered multiple solutions for things I didn't even realize I needed, and I'm so thankful for that because that means he doesn't cut corners. He's professional, honest, hardworking, and delivers everything promised, plus some! When the project was done, he checked back with me to see how everything was looking, specifically with some drainage concerns I was having prior to the project. Other folks I have done business with would just do the job and you get what you get. Not Derek! I felt like the genuinely cared about my satisfaction with the project. He hands down beat the pricing of any other estimates I received. I am so lucky I found him, and will certainly be calling him for future projects! Do yourself a favor and hire Derek! "My roof had a leak that dripped through the walls of my stairwell to my first floor.  I was expecting to pay thousands for a roof replacement.  When the Cobalt guy investigated, he said he could just seal the leak for about $75.  I was elated!
The repair was awesome.  He said the repair would sometime next week.  I didn't even know the repair had been done until I received a text letting me know they were finished.  It would be so great if we could trust everyone to do the job quickly and easily, like the Cobalt guys.

"We are extremely happy with the work Robert and his crew did for us. The job was started on schedule, completed within the estimated time-frame (only three days!), and the crew cleaned up after themselves very well. Each crew member was polite and helpful with answering any questions we had about the job. And Robert was very accessible and was at the jobsite every day. One of the things I really appreciate about working with Royal Landscaping is that Robert didn't pressure us into going any particular direction, but provided design input every time we asked him. We've worked with several contractors on home projects over the years, and it's often difficult to get them to share professional opinions and provide honest feedback about our ideas. I know I'm the homeowner and I'm paying for it, but when I ask the professional who does this for a living for suggestions or feedback on my ideas, I really don't want to hear "we can do whatever you want"! So I really appreciate the fact that Robert willingly provided his input throughout the project and helped us with the design element. And I readily admit that every single suggestion he had turned out to be excellent. Pintrest and Google are great, but that info isn't specific to my application. So when it comes time to do something of this scope, I want to rely on a bit more than internet pictures. He's also very knowledgeable about his profession and thoroughly answered all of our questions (I was particularly concerned about drainage in our hilly yard). We also had Robert's team do the sod in the back, and he provided a certificate for the grass (I'd never even heard of that before) when he gave us lawncare instructions. They put down pinestraw as well and even relocated several of my plants when building the retaining walls. Also, when building the wall, the crew needed to relocate an existing underground drain pipe. The old pipe was of low quality and had holes, so they replaced it with a better-functioning and better-quality pipe. Finally, Robert gave us the best price/value out of the four companies we got quotes from. We initially were going to go with a different type of stone for our retaining wall, but after seeing the Heritage Block Royal Landscaping offers, we decided to go with that. And we're very glad we did. It's head and shoulders above other products we've seen. After our project was completed, my neighbor across the street said he plans on calling Robert to do work for him. And within this first week of it being done, three other neighbors from different streets in our community have stopped by our house to talk about our new retaining walls and how nice they look! When a vendor doesn't live up to expectations or standards, I actively voice my complaints. And when a vendor/company performs exceptionally well, I like to acknowledge that just too. I rely on reading reviews to help me make decisions about what companies or products are best, so I hope this review helps others. I don't know if Angie's List has any kind of messaging system for members, but if so, feel free to send me any questions you may have about this company. I realize this is a glowing review, but it was a smooth process and we really had no problems or complaints. Robert seemed just as concerned as I was about ensuring my project was done right and was of high quality. I'd definitely hire them in the future."

"His team responded quickly to my submitted request on Angie's List, set up a date for an estimate the next day. They completed the projects in a timely manner and stayed in touch prior to the process especially regarding the rain delaying their process. Even though we had only broom concrete installed, they took their time and didn't rush. They made sure everything was to perfection and smooth. The team is very friendly. I would definitely have them out again for any future concrete needs we may have. They are dedicated and committed to making sure the customer is happy and informed during the process."
