"Michelle at Premier did a great job of educating me on how to care for my 20+-year-old leather coat, on what needed to be done to renew it, and cleaned it so it was almost like new. She also took over cleaning a fine Italian wool jacket I sent her, and even found buttons to replace ones on the sleeve that had fallen off She's professional, prompt, and gets the job done! I have no worries when I send my clothes to her in Calif from Wyoming (because we have no comparable specialty cleaners here)."

"Needed an Oriental rug cleaned. Two nice young men picked it up and returned on the date given. Rug looked great! They reinstalled it and put my furniture back in place. Excellent service, reasonable pricing and I will hire again. Thank you!"

"We painted the interior of our home and when it was finished, we had the biggest mess! I contacted KOA and everything went so smoothly! They were able to clean the following day and they arrived on time, ready to get to work with pleasant attitudes. I ran some errands while they were here and when I returned, I was sooo happy! Not only was it super clean but it smelled amazing! They did an INCREDIBLE job! I was just looking for a one time clean but after I saw what they did yesterday, I plan on using them regularly. Prices are fair as well! Try them, you don't be disappointed!"

Upholstery Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You should not use bleach to clean a mattress. Bleach is too harsh for most mattress fibers and can cause damage to mattress foam. In addition, bleach cannot be adequately rinsed out of a mattress, causing the smell to linger for a long time. Choose gentler cleaners like baking soda, dish soap, or enzyme cleaners.

You can use saddle soap to clean a leather sofa, but use it sparingly. Saddle soap cleans and conditions leather but can be too harsh for some types of furniture. Test it first on a small, unnoticeable part of the sofa to avoid accidentally damaging it. Apply a small amount with a damp cloth, gently work it into the leather, and wipe off the excess with a clean, dry cloth. Afterward, use a leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent drying.

The recommended solution is to use a brand-name stain remover you trust in your machine. However, you can make an upholstery cleaning solution using a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and dish soap.

Costs are influenced by furniture size, fabric type, level of soiling, and geographic location. After evaluating the extent of cleaning required, professionals usually provide a per-piece estimate.

To remove odor from a leather couch, let's focus first on what not to do.

A quick Google search may suggest using vinegar to do the job—don't. The acid will dry out anything made of leather. A better DIY option is to sprinkle a little baking soda on your sofa and let it rest for a few hours. Afterward, vacuum it up with a soft-attachment brush. You can also try airing your sofa by opening windows or leaving it outside for a few hours in a clean, dry space.
