"German Ronquillo & his team did an excellent job of removing a large diseased tree that was threatening to fall on my screen porch. This tree with four large offshoots had to be topped & German had to physically climb each one (about 60" -70"up) in order to top them so they did not fall on my house. They were very safe and caused no damage to yard or drive. If I have any need for future tree service they are my go to guys!. Strongly recommend!"

"After experiencing multiple delays with another tree service, I contacted Green Oak Tree Experts on a Monday afternoon to request an estimate. The owner, Chris, was at my house the following morning (Tuesday). He immediately impressed me by telling me both 1) that the work I wanted done wasn’t as urgent as I feared it was and that I could afford to wait for the other company to come do it, and 2) that the price quoted by the other company was a good one. We talked further, and over the course of the conversation, he offered to do more than I had planned at a highly competitive price—and to do it the next day. Chris and a crew of seven other guys were at my house by 10:30 Wednesday morning. By 11:30, they had not only safely brought down and cleared away four trees but also cleared away two other large trees that had previously fallen in our yard as well as multiple large piles of logs, limbs, and branches that had accumulated over the years. They also cut multiple stumps closer to th"

"We too had an excellent experience with Triad. These guys really are the best. Professional, punctual, courteous and extremely skilled. I contacted them Thursday morning, had an estimate from them that afternoon, and they had a full crew out here hard at work the next day. Performed difficult tree removal in a very tight spot. They're exactly what you want in a tree service."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

The ideal depth of a tree notch depends on the tree, but it should usually be between 20% and 25% of the tree’s depth. However, if the tree is leaning towards the direction of the notch, it can be cut more shallowly—at as little as 10% of the depth. When the tree is leaning away from the direction it needs to be felled, you can cut deeper, closer to 30%.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

In most cases, your neighbor is responsible for roots from their tree that cause damage to your property. If your pavement, the foundation of your home, or a fence is damaged by roots from a neighbor’s tree, you likely will have legal recourse for financial relief. While it’s better to notify your neighbor of any problems you notice as soon as they arise to avoid costly damage, there are some instances where filing a civil suit is your only recourse. Your homeowner’s insurance company might wish to do so on your behalf if you file a claim.
