"Jeremy assessed the problem and gave us a few scenarios with prices. Before jumping to the most expensive solution, he suggested replacing the toilet first (and explained why). When asked, he recommended an $89 toilet at Lowes and told us why - this alone saved money. When he came back 3 days later (to fit our schedule), he removed the toilet and looked in the lines, only to find a root/vines. But instead of jumping to the conclusion of a broken line, he investigated further to find the pipes weren't broken at all. After a quick clean out and installing the new toilet, he was done. It took only 2.5 hours. Jeremy was professional, friendly, and forthcoming with information. We would definitely call him again and easily recommend him."

"I hired Superior Plumbing and Drains to install a gas water heater in my home. They provided a 10 year full warranty and cleaned up after they finished the job. Austin and Zach had great customer service and were extremely professional. I will hire them for all my future plumbing needs and I would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing work done in their home!"

Customers say: Quality work
"Doug and his crew from Checkered Flag Plumbing came into my condo/townhouse with a total of 4 guys to help strip out the old water heater and install a brand new Rheem for me within a days notice of contact. Doug and his crew were super professional and kept in consistent contact with me throughout the day and even follow-up me later on additional information regarding an extended warranty on the water heater. Because of this, I would highly rate my experience a 5.0 as I was able to receive hot water within 45mins to an 1hr after installation. Would highly recommend this team."

"The crew was to do a saw cut on our existing stamped concrete floor to install internal irrigation drains. They used a jackhammer, and did irregular cuts that were difficult to repair. They also scratched our cement floor in several places. However they were very polite and cleaned up well behind themselves. The irrigation system is in."

"This is the second time I have hired a drainage contractor. The company before Sealtech buried about 50 concrete pavers in the trench while I was away at Lowes. Needless to say I did not call them back. Sealtech sent a three man crew out. They dug up the sod (Bermuda) and saved it to put back. Then they hand dug a trench about 200 feet. They cut out four feet of concrete very neatly, then installed a 4-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe (the thick stuff), not the corregated black junk. They captured one gutter and installed a drain basin where water would mass during heavy rain. The crew did not damage any utilities during the entire process After they filled in the trench and placed the sod back you could hardly tell anything was done. I can say I am highly satisfied. I cannot wait for the first heavy rain."

"Crawlspace tune-up went well with contractor finding several issues that included inadequate sump pump size and locations along with multiple floor joists that had rot damage and needed repairs. So far, we've had the sump pumps installed as recommended, the crew did a great job installing the new pumps and ensuring drainage was adequate. We intend to have the joist sister work done at a later date when finances allow."

"No problem with their solution, approach & methodology. Was able to find another contractor (local) with virtually same solution, who have been in the business for a number of years. Price was just over half as much. Since problem was with an out-building (not primary residence,) I felt comfortable with the lower bid, even with lesser warranty."

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.
The cost to install a drain pipe is $600 on average, but the total can range between $150 and $2,000. Some cost factors that influence your project price include the type of drain, the area’s accessibility, the proximity of existing drain lines, and whether you’re installing a new drain or replacing an old one. Replacing the p-trap or s-trap under a single fixture will usually cost around $150, while replacing a main drain pipe can cost well over $2,000.
Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.
You might need a permit to modify or repair any portion of your plumbing system, including drainage lines, depending on where you live. In some areas, simple replacements of existing drain lines don’t require a permit. We recommend asking your drain pipe installer or your local building department about permitting requirements. In many cases, only certified plumbers can pull plumbing permits, so you’ll usually need to leave the permit application to your professional. The fee for the permit will be passed to you on your project bill, though.
We highly recommend leaving the work of replacing drain pipes to a professional plumber. Drain pipes are a key part of your plumbing system, and making mistakes during the installation or even using the wrong size pipes for your specific fixture can lead to an elevated risk of leaks and clogs. Additionally, drain pipes prevent harmful sewer gas from entering your home, so hiring a professional plumber is essential to keeping the risk of leaks and clogs low and avoid reducing your indoor air quality.
